I worked at KPIT Technologies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Lot of smart people, great location on Centennial Campus, relatively causal environment, interesting work product, good benefits.

    Cons

Post acquisition of I-Cubed, there were multiple cuts/layoffs over several months that seemed to have no rhyme or reason, each round leading to continued loss of morale and an "am I next?" mindset. Not very conducive to efficient work, which results in unhappy customers. Pay, across all role types, was relatively low for the market.

    Advice to Management

Now that (it appears) large scale layoffs have slowed, put more effort into reigniting the workforce. Spend less time concerned about how to offshore/nearshore every job and allow the PLM folks to continue along the path that made I-Cubed such an attractive acquisition to begin with.

I have been working at KPIT Technologies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They have a lot of positions in Detroit. This is the only Pro.

    Cons

Training opportunities are inadequate. The customer is paying for most of the training I need, which is very unusual. Not enough time off for senior employees. It's almost impossible for me to interact with the company doing things such as expense reporting or even reading my promotion letter. I have to read my company email on my phone. HR is still horrible.

    Advice to Management

If I weren't about to retire I would not put up with this company. I tolerate you because I like the customer.

I have been working at KPIT Technologies (Less than a year)

    Pros

Minimal supervision (i.e. given a "long-leash"), competitive salary, decent benefits in US, good work-life balance

    Cons

Convoluted internal processes, layers of offshore bureaucracy, no clear org chart, lack of ownership/accountability in support organizations, inability to secure key H1B resources and SMEs (as they often don't exist), onshore support often left to "swing in the wind" with an upset customer due to these reasons

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to focus solely on bringing costs down by focusing on fresher hires versus seasoned SMEs... your customers are noticing, and feeling the pain (as well as your US account staff as key consultants head for the exits).

    Positive Outlook

I worked at KPIT Technologies full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

It's a small company so you can get to know all people pretty fast and can make the vital connection. One can move up pretty fast if they fit into the company culture.

    Cons

Being a small company, if there are issues with the top/mid management people, one can suffer a lot due to alienation. what value few old timers bring to the table?

    Advice to Management

Know who in the organization is adding real value to the bottom line and growth of the company. You have to infuse new local blood into the system.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

The management is very experienced and guides one in tough situations. Management interacts a lot with the development team members to see if everything is going okay.

    Cons

Salaries are very poor, they pay at least 50% less than another company in the same field. There is no system for bonus and no other benefits except for normal insurance. Computers provided were out dated at least 4 years ago. The employees are not hardworking at all and most of the times getting the smallest things done takes an unbelievable amount of argument and efforts to accomplish.

    Advice to Management

Please do something regarding the low salaries you pay, benefits and employee satisfaction index along with the slow computers that everyone uses.

    Pros

Well compensated base salary, but they've changed compensation to prevent raises. Only offer performance base bonus, which is done by a manager with little to no knowledge of your actual quarterly work. Bonus is arbitrary and lacking.

    Cons

No training opportunities. No career advancement unless Indian. Nepotism. No severance package when laid off. Baseless performance reviews.
