I have been working at KPMG full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Flexible working
    - Good benefits (healthcare, sickness, travel policy)
    - 26 days holiday
    - Ability to travel within the UK and abroad
    - Generally good teams to work within
    - If you are good, you will get promoted quickly

    Cons

    - Working hours
    - Lack of support from some Directors
    - High pressure environment
    - Base salary lower than industry average
    - Poor bonus

    Advice to Management

Would recommend a full review of base salaries - as they have not increased now for a number of years, and are lagging behind industry norms. Training schemes should also be improved.

I have been working at KPMG full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very good training opportunities, decent pay and good working environment, and a professional qualification is fully funded. Most colleagues are very good to work with.

    Cons

Especially early on, people can be moved around the company for months at a time and have little to no say in where they go. This is mainly down to some areas of the business being very much over resourced, and others under resourced.

When you join, you are simply assigned a team, there is very little say in where you start off.

I have been working at KPMG full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Big Four name
    Well known clients
Success depends on who you know
Salaries are good for jobs although not great for consultancy
    On the whole nice people
    Training opportunities

    Cons

Faster career progression for those who've been there a long time
Not many females in senior positions - inline with most consultancies - unclear how sincere the leadership is about change
Potential bias against equitable gender salaries at senior levels - might be systemic rather than conscious
Poor work life balance built into culture
Career progression built on numbers and being known

    Advice to Management

Recruit more people at junior grades
Ensure equitable salaries at senior grades for genders
Develop supportive team working environment rather than competitive testosterone environment

    Pros

Good environment and great staff to work with. Flexible working hours and free lunches. Local to where I live easy travel

    Cons

No overtime, can be very stressful for no reason because managers think everything is urgent when it isn't ! Have to buy own computer consumables

    Advice to Management

    Give overtime

I have been working at KPMG full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nice work colleagues, collaborative working. Reasonable working hours. Generally the work is interesting and you get access to some well known clients.

    Cons

Pay is fairly low. The benefits that were in place at the start are slowly disappearing. We used to have a 3 month jump start Friday, now 2 months and from next year it is no more. We used to have monthly drinks, then quarterly, now that has disappeared. They have also just announced that we have to pay for our own keyboards, mice, computer cables so that we can work.....more and more the leadership appear to be cutting costs and at the moment it seems they are trying to cut everything possible.

    Advice to Management

Stop focusing on cutting costs so drastically and start looking at employee moral as the more things that get taken away the more moral seems to reduce.

I have been working at KPMG full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    competitive salary
Great work if you show initiative
    Genuinely care about employees

    Cons

    Can be beaurocratic
Salary does not deviate much for high performers vs median

    Advice to Management

Senior manager and above should be incentivised on sales/revenue in year.
Business development career pathway should be formalised and encouraged to reach 2020 strategy

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at KPMG full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Most people I've worked with are great, lunch allowance is a nice bonus. Friendly culture, which isn't over competitive. Opportunities within the business.

    Cons

Difficult to get a secondment, which can be frustrating. Work is dependent on your client and there doesn't seem to be much focus over ensuring you aren't just on clients which are difficult/long hours

    Advice to Management

Be more open and willing to help with secondment opportunities. Potentially a better review process as there is little incentive to perform above average.
