I have been working at KPMG full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I work with a great team. Very family oriented, which is one qualities I look for most in a company.

    Cons

    Compensation could be more competitive.

    Advice to Management

    Increase the compensation/annual salary increases.

    Pros

KPMG truly cares about its employees. They provide amazing benefits and ensure you are taken care of. Their diversity networks allow people from all walks of life to unite and better the company and the local communities.

    Cons

As a consultant, you're required to travel a lot. I've had times where I travel for 4 months straight and can be taxing on family time.

    Advice to Management

Continue caring about the employees and take extra pride in them and reward them more.

I worked at KPMG full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Many opportunities for career advancements. Large company which can allow you to move internationally or to different industries. Work with great colleagues who will become your close friends.

    Cons

Longer than average hours. Work is demanding and the pressure is high at times. The pay is lower than what you would get if you leave the firm. On the other hand, you can use the firm as a platform and always be able to find a better paying 9-5 job if that's for you.

    Advice to Management

The US firm should look to the European KPMG's operation and take some simple steps which would greatly improve the quality of work/life for employees (e.g. showers in the office, subsidized gym, free mobile phone for all employees, etc.)

I have been working at KPMG (Less than a year)

    Pros

KPMG prides itself on it's ability to employ down-to-earth people who have a collective desire to provide top-quality services for their clients, while developing relationships and expanding their knowledge of business.

    Cons

Hours can be extremely long at times, and it may seem as if the company expects you to work as long as it takes you to get the job done the day of.

    Advice to Management

Management varies because each engagement is facilitated by a different partner and/or senior manager. Overall, management is great.

    Pros

Great exposure to different areas of the business and working with like minded professionals with ambition. Management team (in my practice and region at least) are supportive of taking PTO and support healthy minds.

    Cons

The salary isn't great and work/life balance is a struggle at times with the demands of the position.

    Advice to Management

No advice. This is a nature of the beast and unlikely to change in the near future.

    Pros

Gets too busy that time flies so fast. Ok environment to work in because everybody works and not much time to socialize so work gets done right away.

    Cons

Hard working with procrastinators because they always hold back until the last minute and everything becomes a rush all of a sudden and everything gets pushed back. Not fair to those people who plan ahead.

    Advice to Management

Ask your staff for their suggestions and listen to them. Working in any staff department is like we're the bottom of the barrel and I wish we could get better raises and bonuses next time.

I worked at KPMG (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very good company to work and grow as long as there is a need or project and get along with your superior.

    Cons

expect working way more than 40 hours/ week, and no loyalty, they would let you go in a very short notice when there is no billable work when your superior cannot secure a chargeable project at no fault of yours!!

    Advice to Management

they say they believe in work/life balance, but it doesn't always turn out that way. but, it just depends on each circumstance
