    Pros

Every department is different but some really care about work life balance and focusing on the individuals and their professional and personal needs.

    Cons

Hours can be long, travelling is a negative at times as well as a positive, depending on the type of work your doing it's part of the role to have challenging conversations.

    Advice to Management

Keep the core values in mind, and try not to let metrics get in the way of doing the right thing for your people and clients.

Good people, good pay, was kept busy and gave me a good experience of a range of clients.

    Cons

Sometimes kept you at a clients in the evenings just for the sake of it even though there was no work for you just to impress the client.

I have been working at KPMG (More than 5 years)

    Pros

+ Generally they pride themselves on "looking after you" but this depends on your team or functions (there's LOTS of different cultures)
+ Its not all about the salary (which is also a negative) - they don't tend to throw more money at you to solve a problem (which I've heard other big 4 do)
    + Generally nice people/colleagues
+ Varied work and a good range of work/clients
+ Good work/life balance when you're not busy
+ You can create your own career path

    Cons

    - Pay is generally lower than other big 4 but this is justified because its a "nicer place to work"
    - Career progression could be faster (you can only apply for vacancies that exist, which is fair, but not like the old way i.e. when you were ready, you got promoted)
    - They tend to under-recruit until staff get stretched

I have been working at KPMG as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Treated as a graduate, gain real responsibility straight away.
    Very friendly team
Monthly meetings in London office with other gap year students allows you to compare your progress
Amazing opportunity pre university to set you apart from your peers
Great perks e.g. Amex Card, Training programme's etc

    Cons

Pay isn't great but to be expected as a gap year student without any prior experience. Heard from other people that they weren't given a lot of project work but I guess that depends on your team.

    Advice to Management

Great scheme but ensure Gap Year students are given meaningful responsibility. Maybe facilitate the movement between divisions and service lines to give students a broader range of experiences.
