I have been working at KPMG full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Sometimes the job can be very flexible. During summer, I work from home once every week or two. Also, Jumpstart Fridays are great (leave the office at 3pm).

I've met some great people at KPMG trainings from different practices.

A lot of happy hours and team lunches/ dinners.

    Cons

When newly hired, you are thrown into the ocean and forced to learn how to swim. I had no real experience with IT Advisory and learning was frustrating because of lack of guidance.

The job is VERY tedious and lacks the growth to learn any hard skills. I feel like I am loosing opportunity to grow my career by staying at KPMG. Each day here feels like a day I wasted.

KPMG expects you to be a slave to the firm. For about 16 weeks a year I find myself working 55-70 hour weeks with no extra compensation even though I am only scheduled to work 40 hrs a week.

KPMG expects your job to be your life. They expect you to be dedicated to the job like it is a startup.

    Advice to Management

Not enough Indians, too many Chiefs.

I have been working at KPMG full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

there are a lot of challenges when working for a global company like KPMG - complexity, deadlines, quality, and if you can manage it, the people, the clients, and the compensation are all really good.

    Cons

if you are in the early phases of your career you will find the amount of effort quite high - although the support from your manager and peers is often quite good - so prep for putting in the time and energy to be successful!

I worked at KPMG full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Overall, good, friendly culture and perks. Firm into giving back to community, which is always good. Pockets of true, knowledgeable professionals. Firm offers solid internal training.

    Cons

Many directors lack the necessary skills and passion for their level, and should be at the Manager level, if that. Stale, out-dated thinking holds department back...want to do things the way they have always been done and little tolerance for new ideas/different thinking. Trouble embracing new trends, best practices and technologies.

    Advice to Management

Stop turning a blind eye to stale, unpassionate, unqualified leaders.
