I have been working at KPMG full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Able to work in different areas easily

    Lots of job opportunities

    Flexible working environment

    Mostly nice people

    Easy to find interesting work

    Cons

Don't value education and experience when considering pay unless qualifications are done within the firm

Bad pay to begin with, new bonus scheme means you don't get much of a bonus (supposed to be made up for in greater pay increases, which they then disregard when you move up a level)

Most employees are talented, but there are quite a few unqualified for their job that somehow manage not to get fired despite messing up engagements

Constantly changing internal structure and strategy -at least once a year, is confusing for employees

    Advice to Management

Pay people more who you value, especially at lower levels otherwise you will not retain employees - a lot of people like their jobs but feel they aren't being compensated what they should- stop letting the partners run off with all the money- lower levels will be happy with just a little bit more, which doesn't actually cost that much!

I have been working at KPMG full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Lots of opportunities for progression and movement in the firm. Some of the most open and honest communication I have experienced in the profession. The quality and range of clients is very good and the work varies sufficiently to keep you engaged.

    Cons

Professional fees aren't paid as part of the employment package but there is an annual bonus which usually more than covers this.
