I have been working at KPMG full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Most of the people that I have encountered are great. It is not a cutthroat environment and mentoring is promoted.

    Cons

Typical Big 4 bureaucracy which makes it harder for employees to strive.

    Pros

    -Young culture
    -Great Place to start career

    Cons

-Bonuses and variable compensation are horrible
-Values soft skills more than actually good work output

    Advice to Management

-Drop small clients that require teams to have small budgets
-No senior should ever have to jungle 4 clients at a time

    Pros

People are great and the Bay Area has some big name clients.

    Cons

Our practice is pretty sexist. I will say though that your experience will really depend on what practice you are thinking of joining... everyone's experience is different.

    Advice to Management

    Stop letting good people leave.

I worked at KPMG full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Engagement Assignments run the spectrum of financial services which will help to broaden your perspectives and skills. The travel to different parts of the country assisting clients does allow you to engage colleagues in many business facets

    Cons

Constant long travel plans and you’re away from home base almost 100 percent of the time. You are never given a life work balance as you’re expected to be available every day and holidays without compensation in any manner by many senior partners who have great minds however are intrinsically lazy and simply punching the clock and wasting firm assets

    Advice to Management

Need separate internal compliance group independent of senior partners to ensure no Consultant gets left behind as opposed to individual biases that exist.

    Pros

KPMG's pitch is that their people are the best to work with in the world and it couldn't be more true. Incredible colleagues all around which makes for great learning experiences and a culture that fosters growth and inclusion.

    Cons

The only cons aren't a shot at the organization but the lifestyle of the job. I'm not crazy about the travel every week.
