I worked at KPMG full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great place to work. The company as a whole is a great place to have a career.

    Cons

Management stays around to long, which makes it hard to move up in certain departments.

    Advice to Management

Promote your best employees because tenure doesn't assure that you have the right people in the position. My manager had no idea of what it took to do my job and made it known often. She was over a design department without any design experience or equipment knowledge at all.

I worked at KPMG full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

People - the people are (mostly) great and fun to work with / smart to learn from
    Benefits are pretty good

    Cons

Salary was on the low side (especially for the hours put in)
The hours could be rough (like any big 4) and expectations of nights and weekends in the busy season was not uncommon

    Advice to Management

Pay more and you'll get the best employees who'll stay longer

I worked at KPMG (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Learn a lot of different consulting skills, great benefits, work with great intelligent people, 25 PTO days

    Cons

Some of the senior directors/ partners aren't the greatest so it can influence your work/ time at the firm

    Advice to Management

Do not just promote people because they have been with the firm a certain time. Senior managers/ directors/ and partners should all help their associates grow and should want the best for them. They should be able to be good mentors if they are PMLs. Upward reviews should be taken very seriously.

I have been working at KPMG full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Don’t have to work too hard.
Lower tier consulting firm so lower expectations.
The more junior folks are fun and good people.

    Cons

    Pay is poor.
We have hired in a lot of ex-Accenture people and I have spoken to many of them who state Accenture is a better place to work than KPMG.

    Advice to Management

KPMG is a very set centered firm. Everyone is out for themselves. Management will take advantage of everyone if it means pocketing $5 for themselves.
