I have been working at KPMG full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good people, overall. Friendly. Easy environment. Not as difficult or challenging as other large consulting firms.

    Cons

Leadership within Customer Solutions Practice only cares about themselves. Pay is below industry averages.

    Advice to Management

Partners within Customer Solutions only care about their own careers. They will lie and use their team members to their own benefit. No concern for the career advancement of others.

I worked at KPMG full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Corporate events are usually pretty fun and they allow open bars. Good for resume building if you want to jump into industry.

    Cons

Work life balance is absolutely terrible. They have no issue changing your schedule as they like. When you work there you are basically property of the firm

    Advice to Management

    Hire more staff

    Pros

    Great people and culture
    Relaxed environment
    Many learning opportunities
    Flexible schedule

    Cons

    Busy season is brutal
Some managers/partners do not always knowledge the hard work you do
Pay not commensurate to hours worked

    Advice to Management

Managers and Partners should at times take a step back and try to understand the struggles that the teams face on a daily basis.
Resources should be planned better as more often than not engagements are understaffed with the obvious results of overwork your employees.

I have been working at KPMG full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Compensation is Competitive (Received a 23% raise with 10% Bonus)
    - Working with intelligent, young people for the most part
    - Technology is great and we are moving fast in that direction
    - Great way to advance your career very quickly

    Cons

    - Some engagement managers, most directors, and all partners do not contribute to anything until it is done then they screw it all up. Need to be more involved and treat the KPMG employees better than the client.
    - VERY cuthroat and political. If you get on the wrong persons bad side, then you can kiss any good projects away, at least from him/her.
    - The potential to be in one practice (Consulting), but able to be placed on a long term project that delays your growth in your field and thus hurts your chances of being promoted.

    Advice to Management

    - Better business planning (have not hit our goals consistently).
    - Stress to upper management that they need to be more involved and actually do some damn work.
