    I worked at KPMG full-time

    Pros

Really great benefits that is rare amongst Singapore corporates.

    Cons

    1. Erroneous hiring process with a focus on hiring from across the causeway or the calibre of mid-career switches.
    2. To expound on (1), there was a time when the hires from across the causeway was really value for money as they tend to exhibit a certain level of drive that is uncommon amongst locals BUT these days causeway hires are beginning to exhibit the sort of rent seeking behaviour that junior staffs loathe to see. They work hard back home, get a job here and then decide to just cruise. No longer as driven. Kinda weird phenomenon but I guess it's because it's no longer difficult to secure a job here.
    3. SQP is killing the firm as junior staff start to neglect work over their studies.
    4. Seems like cruising along will get you an appraisal as good as the other guy who works twice as hard.

    Advice to Management

Overall they have tried their best but I think the priority for hiring mid-career switchers should really go towards the locals rather than having a knee-jerk reaction and straight-out hire from across the causeway.

I have been working at KPMG full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great exposure, fulfilling and interesting engagements, good colleagues, fun firm events including welcome night, dnd and management summit. Faster leaning if you have good mentor/partner

    Cons

-More work than you can handle if you are good
-emotional partners. And sometimes they don't like to talk to each other which cause lots of problems for the team
-there are training but you won't have time to attend
-Rigid Risk Managment and Ddp. Lack of support from them. They will tell what not to do but don't always have an answer on how should be done to suit the specific situation.

    Advice to Management

Don't wait till the person tenders and then think about that solution to retain him/her
