I have been working at Kabam full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

We have an amazing new CEO, Tim Fields, who is incredibly intelligent and personable. Under his leadership, our department got floor-wide raises and an amazing bonus plan set up. Our work-life balance is incredible and coworkers are all unique and talented individuals. We're able to be creative and really help improve the company.

Personal pluses: We get free lunch every day of the week with occasional catered breakfast and a really sweet snack bar. We also have a ton of board games, card games, and console games that we like to play throughout the day just for fun.

    Cons

--Some folks are constantly swamped while others are usually cruising by.
--In order to thrive at Kabam you really have to be a self-starter. If you like to wait to be told what to do, but want to do more, this isn't the company for you. If you're not afraid to put yourself out there and come up with ideas that you'll actually be able to see come to fruition--this is the place for you.
--Things are always changing, which is fine, but fast-pace environments aren't for everyone

    Advice to Management

Be less afraid of stepping on employees' toes and really give them constructive feedback to help them grow.

I worked at Kabam full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great culture, talented people, fairly responsive to industry changes.

    Cons

Sad to see them close. Possibly over-invested in certain game teams with history of unsuccessful games.

    Advice to Management

While pivoting and adapting to change was the mantra, perhaps it could have been executed a bit sooner.

I have been working at Kabam full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Upper management was very open to feedback and kept everyone updated on company shifts and decisions.

    Cons

Management had no idea which direction they wanted to take the company. Teams worked hard on products that never saw the light of day due to constantly shifting company strategies.

    Advice to Management

None since the company has been sold.

I worked at Kabam full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Competitive Salary. Nice perks. HR is the best in the business.

    Cons

Out-of-touch GMs/Executive Producers with unrealistic revenue expectations. Too many company pivots, making it seem like they aren't sure where they want to go.

    Advice to Management

Lost a lot of good talent. Find ways to reinvest in them rather than part ways. Make sure those who become managers are taught how to manage.

I worked at Kabam full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Working alongside some wonderful people.
    Free lunch.
Flexible working schedule, work from home.

    Cons

New policies and directions implemented with no regard for agents' well-being.
    Feedback and concerns are ignored.
New managers/directors every 6-8 months bring sweeping changes and reset everything.
Internal growth focused on seniority, little to no room for advancement.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. There is so much under utilized talent with great ideas that you simply ignore or sweep under the rug. Don't mistake comradery with morale.

I worked at Kabam full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

When I 1st joined, I thought the way they brought new team members on-board was the best I experienced. Kabam does take care of its employees with swag, snacks, trips, etc.

    Cons

Company pivots what seems to be every business quarter, and with that comes layoffs. Kabam is one of the 'best' at the 'Fire & Hire' cycle of game development.

    Advice to Management

Reinvest in your people, don't dispose of them.
