    Pros

The pay is good. The benefits are good. Union. The work is enjoyable outside of your supervisor constantly harassing you or trying to get you written up or fired.

    Cons

The supervisors are the worst. unethical. no life outside of work because of constant forced overtime. clueless H.R Department. Feels like you're back in high school with all the drama that goes around.

    Advice to Management

Stop with all of the harassment, ask for more training, look for another job because the turnover rate here is ridiculous.

    Pros

Lots of good people to work with, solid union job, pay and benefits are outstanding for the area, properly train employees before they let them loose to do a job

    Cons

you will never see your family with this job. Lots of guys have marital problems because of the time they spend in the plant, they tend to do a lot of lay offs-so you are either working around the clock or at home drawing unemployment

    Advice to Management

it would be nice if the workload could be balanced throughout the year instead of having a ton of orders for three months and then next to nothing for a couple. Close the gap between the unionized employees and company

    Pros

Pay is pretty good for the job. However bad Kaiser is in terms of cost and productivity...the competition is even worse; so for the next 5-8 years the job security is just about 100%.

    Cons

Very little challenge and most people have a poor opinion of the company. It is almost depressing showing up everyday.

    Advice to Management

I don't know if there is much the current management can actually do; the decisions made in the 1980s and 1990s are probably too much to overcome. The amount of capital needed, could never be raised...so things are probably just going to continue on a downward spiral until a World Class Heat Treated Plate / Aerospace Plate plant comes along.

    Little to no professional training
Discipline attitudes focus on catching people screwing up vs. preventing people from making mistakes
