I have been working at Kaiser Permanente full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Over the last 2 years Kaiser has been reducing their benefits. Once a great place to spend a career should now be thought of a quick stop if you are interested in any of their opportunities. Management hires management which are friends and friends of friends without IT experience and attempts to drive down their grocery store tactics to the knowledge holders.

    Cons

Poor leadership in most areas of IT. CIO doesn't have the background otherwise he would have removed his Executive Staff.

    Advice to Management

Clean out Executive Management and replace with people who care about the business and their hiring practices.

I worked at Kaiser Permanente full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The patients and their families made it wonderful and kept you coming back in each day especially after an extremely hard case

    Cons

Two job titles and all the work expected in an 8 hour day. On the road in traffic extremely unrealistic expectations to complete in 8 hours .

    Advice to Management

Support your employees they are your bread and butter. Without them you would not have your jobs.

Is located on a nice campus in Burbank. Convenient commute. The company has some fun health-conscious programs.

    Cons

Is a tense environment with a lot of whispering behind backs and nitpicking. My boss didn't communicate; she just got input from spies.

I worked at Kaiser Permanente as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Clean Enviornment, smiling faces, welcoming persona, Family Teamwork but Fear driven environment

    Cons

Lack of healthcare competence, lack of up to date healthcare processes, Abusive supervision towards highly skilled healthcare educated new onboards

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to changes in employees behaviors, especially those that produce quality work. Train Management on up to date healthcare processes and monitor workplace bullying which can cost companies up to $23 billion in high turnovers and lack of knowledgeable applicable training in ever changing healthcare field. Put more focus into patients instead of employees to reduce lawsuits and complaints.
