    Pros

The building is nice. Gumtree catering is in the cafeteria. Im sure people who are full time would have pros..

    Cons

Most of the people working here are hired as temp employees. Which means you are cut out of most things this so called kal tire family has to offer. I can understand people who are permanent employeea arw giving rave reviews due to having benefits, rrsps, and the profit sharing which from what ive heard is quite a nice payout yearly. As a temp you get treated differently, dont expect raises, no benefits, no time invested in you yet they expect you to invest your all with them.
There is tons of senior upper management and too many còoks in the kitchen but most of them dont know what eachother is doing. Very unorganized. They expect to be catered to, and only give thanks to real employees and the temps are used to make them look good.
Supposedly staff get pictures taken and poated on wall, as a temp you are not included.
Kept in the dark and fed manure.
    Thankless job.
    Poor pay.
    No respect.
    Unorganized.
    Just keep looking elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

Too many cooks in the kitchen. Management is very top heavy. Share the profit sharing. Treat EVERYONE with respect, you dont know where people came from or what their education is.

I have been working at Kal Tire full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

RRSP contributions, profit sharing, medical, dental

    Cons

Very long days 10+ hours, sometimes with a minimal break if at all. OT only after 80 hours bi-weekly (condition of employment)

    Advice to Management

Management has no say in anything. Its a corporation where everything happens in an office in Vernon.

I worked at Kal Tire full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

You know your pay check is never going to bounce, they have money and plenty of it if you're in the upper echelon.

    Cons

The whole thing has become so far from Tom Foords Kal Tire it's unrecognizable, greed, buffoon senior management, no accountability, it's criminal

    Advice to Management

It must be some time since you spent any time in a Kal Tire store because you have no idea what is going on out there, just keep spending money on marketing and clearly if you build it they will come. The structure of your advancement ladder & job descriptions and that non productive mentor program leave a whole lot of things undone and once again no accountability. It's the reason they're all stressed out, it's out of control, kids that can't even run their own lives as managers, can't make decisions, can't manage money. How many profitable locations can support the vast majority of non winning teams. Course I've always been sure you know all this and that makes it all the more shameful.

    Advice to Management

Work for your staff and they will perform for you, don't work for the customer.

I worked at Kal Tire full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Pay is decent, Company is strong, Training is above par, Strong value on hiring great people, Profit Sharing, RRSP's, Pay is so/so depends on the location go to a small store same pay as a big store base,

    Cons

Work Life Balance, Lots of things said but never happen or are said to keep you engaged, Upper management to worried about there share instead of the people who make the share for them, Certification process is a farce and a joke in my eyes, No delivery on promises or have to be brought up several times before anything gets done, No consequences on a bad job or bad management of anything just a "its ok don't do it again", No volume based pay structure which is a complete and udder joke.

  10. "Decent"

I worked at Kal Tire part-time

    Pros

Great co workers who create a relaxed environment , Poisition gives good advantaegs if you need work done to your own car

    Cons

management was rather poor , put unnecessary pressure on employees to constantly speed up. You will be doing labor through the day. lunch is not paid

    Advice to Management

Understand employees work as fast as they can while they ensure safety. Provide fair amount of hours to everyone
