    I worked at Kaltura full-time

    Pros

Loved the people and the energy. If you like hard work with a group a crazy and brilliant people, this is a great spot.

    Cons

Being the connective tissue between Israeli tech and American operations can prove very challenging.

    Advice to Management

    Never stop!

I worked at Kaltura full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I love Kaltura's products and the fact that it's open source. A lot of talented people (though most of them already left), great work-life balance. Video is the future!

    Cons

Low salaries, no raises whatsoever. If you want a raise or a promotion you need to resign, and only if they want to keep you, you will get anything you need. Upper management and co-founders can't handle the size of the company, though the CEO is great... the rest don't show any leadership. It feels like all founders are tired and want to sell already. Bringing the OTT to the company basically tanked them and was a huge mistake.

Recently they gave so many people VP and SVP titles, was pretty lame since everyone knows it was a cheap thing to do to keep people from running away. Any third person in the company is a VP now lol.

    Advice to Management

You should have continued only with OVP. Management needs to start show leadership and be transparent! Your human resources are your most valuable assets, don't treat them like they are your lowest priority!

    Pros

Very chill working culture and like many tech firms. They have a great kitchen. And every week there is happy hour when everyone can drink beer. Very easygoing staff

    Cons

No big cons for this company. As a growing company, kaltura definitely provides a lot of opportunities and they also provide good employee benefits. Overall, a good place to work.

I worked at Kaltura full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Shaping how video is used within the online business, entertainment and education markets is exciting and Kaltura supports those markets well. The product line is nimble and the company looks for ways to maximize compatibility and standards to fit within other applications. With open source at the core of what they do, there is a large user community that provides feedback. Finally, the prospective customers can try the open source version and that speeds their adoption once they finally do invest in Kaltura.

    Cons

Like any sales driven organization, the larger the prospective deal the more focus and resources that are applied to make the deal happen.

    Pros

Incredible people. Inspiring leadership. Tremendous drive and ambition. Real entrepreneurialism. Innovative and intense Israeli culture. Global vision.

    Cons

Kaltura is taking a big swing across many verticals and business lines. It's also a very global company. You must be comfortable jumping in and swimming. Finding your way. The culture is intense and driven. Not lots of coddling.

    Advice to Management

Keep pushing. You have an inspiring vision and drive. Your revenue and goals focus as well as your focus on transforming a number of existing industries with video is awesome.

I have been working at Kaltura full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Kaltura's New York office is a fun place to work, and the company has been working hard to keep up with the fun perks in the tech industry, like a fully stocked kitchen, weekly yoga, a basketball team, office parties and company fun days, etc. People are really nice and sociable, and it is generally a pleasant place to be. There is a noticeable effort to make Kaltura more diverse and inclusive.

    Cons

Some teams work long hours, and the expectations can be demanding. Despite some efforts in this area, more effort could be made to cultivate management leadership, foster professional development, and create career paths for growth. Changing organizational structure and fast growth means a lot of people are confused about the internal structure, reporting flows, where to find important information, and how to get the help they need from colleagues to do their work.

I have been working at Kaltura full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Very collaborative environment and culture, people will always help each other and there are plenty of social interactions outside of work (karaoke seems to be the favorite social activity)
    - Flexibility to work remotely dramatically improves work-life balance. No such thing as "face time", you are managed by what you do, not by how much time you spend in the office
    - The company is still nimble, so each role's responsibilities go beyond what traditionally such role would be responsible for in a larger firm = opportunities to learn outside your traditional day to day responsibilities
    - Online video is a hot industry, so it feels like the company's products are shaping online trends.
    - Most people take pride in what they do and in the company. They refer to themselves as "Kalturians"
    - Rapidly entering new markets or developing new products, so it keeps things interesting

    Cons

    - The company is growing fast so some processes that you would normally see in larger companies are yet to be implemented or need to improve.
    - Hours are long, there is always more work than one can handle

    Advice to Management

More focus on building internal processes that will scale through the company growth. Invest in middle management.
