I worked at Kane Russell Coleman Logan full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Generally good working environment. Flexible with time and leave. Respectful, friendly people. Shareholders are people of good integrity. Have some brilliant lawyers.

    Cons

High turnover. Lack of mentoring for young attorneys. IT department needs an independent audit as many systems seem outdated. Firm does not seem keen to promote professional development for attorneys or staff. Old equipment-penny pincher mentality to a fault. Old school approach to litigation needs overhaul as many older attorneys seem stuck in their ways and would rather delegate than learn something new. Some of the...

    Advice to Management

Make sure everyone gets a year end review and quit allowing some to be lazy on this. People deserve to know where they stand. Spend some real money on technology. Clients today want efficient workflows and if your tech is behind then they may shop elsewhere. Conduct an IT audit. Invest in training in your people. Too many are stuck in old ways and need to learn new things. Not enough team building for attorneys or...

I worked at Kane Russell Coleman Logan full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Nice environment to work, staff & attorneys are good people & firm events are nice.

    Cons

The firm needs more or better diversity program, base salary is not competitive with other firms of the same size, bonuses doesn't equal employees work product and accomplishments. Management doesn't seem to appreciate staff members either, staff bonuses are pretty standard across the board regardless of how valuable the employee is to the firm and their specific department. Create career advancement programs for your...

    Advice to Management

Pay attorney's and staff members based on their credentials & accomplishments while working at the firm. If you reward your employees based on their abilities and accomplishments, your turn-over rate wouldn't be so high. Otherwise, it's a great place to work.

  6. "Legal Secretary"

    StarStarStarStarStar
Former Employee - Legal Secretary in Dallas, TX

I worked at Kane Russell Coleman Logan full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Friendly work environment with great coworkers and mostly respectful attorneys. Generous leave policy and good insurance coverage to include short term and long term disability.

    Cons

401k match is only 1.5% and if you do not put anything in, they do not contribute.

    Advice to Management

    Increase 401k contribution.
