I have been working at Kangaroo Express full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Was new to retail management. Fortunate enough to have a great district manager to guide me through

    Cons

Pay was discouraging for employees as well as manager level

    Advice to Management

Keep working to improve store hours. Focus on the little people that actually keep the stores open and running 24/7 while they are at home resting in the snow and any other bad weather conditions

    Pros

The stores are typically rather fast paced, and you are very unlikely to get bored. One of the few pros aside from that is that even part-time employees can get insurance.

    Cons

However, That insurance is liable to cost you at least half your month's pay, and that's only if you're full-time. Plus, it seems that the only time you can advance is if someone leaves. They pretty much refuse to even train people for higher positions unless there is suddenly a vacancy, which could leave a store with no management for months at a time.

I have been working at Kangaroo Express full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great hours, easy work, keeps you moving and constantly busy. Interacting with many people.

    Cons

Not much loyalty from new hires for third shifts, which will affect 1st and 2nd shifts.
Overwork and underpay. For the amount of work and depending on geography of store, pay should be adjusted better.

    Advice to Management

Management has great management skills, but could be better with communication.

I worked at Kangaroo Express full-time

    Pros

Great company, good environment, good people.

    Cons

Doesnt pay enough, w/ all the job duties...

    Advice to Management

Raise the pay. We as employees work really hard to ensure not only the best customer service but slap the cleanliness & organization in & around the store. We deserve more than a measley 8.50 ph

    Pros

Free refills - fun atmosphere. I have a lot of fun working at night with my co workers. Not a hard job.

    Cons

It can get frustrating working 3rd shift. There's not a lot of respect for this job from customers. Hours are flexible which means when someone needs time off - you're in.

    Pros

Great benefit for those that need it. Always worked with great people and had great team work.

    Cons

Needed two people on every shift. Doesn't matter how big or small a store is. On your feet 8 hours with no sit down time.

    Advice to Management

Pay better. Do evaluations on time and give raises. Give time off on weekends to all employees even if you have to rotate.

I have been working at Kangaroo Express part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I really enjoy working with customers weather it be face to face on or the phone. I enjoy helping people find solutions to their problems and making their day brighter.

    Cons

I don't enjoy standing on my feet for 8 hours a day, cleaning up after people who think that since it's not their home they can just leave a huge mess and I don't like having to wash all the dishes that get dirtied up during the day. We do a lot of cooking.

    Advice to Management

This is a very hard job and the staff is very underpaid for the hard work that they do.
