    Pros

Great boss and students, supportive staff. Good work with autonomy and resources.

    Cons

The university administration struggles to deal with post-docs. There was some tick in the way summer pay was provided that meant payroll deductions doubled up in the spring, but the details kept changing from year to year so it was hard to plan around.

    Advice to Management

Figure out what a post-doc is, make a policy to cover their compensation, and stick to it. Please.

    Pros

It is a great place to work. Great people and great mission.

    Cons

    Difficult for internal promotions.

    Advice to Management

Consider the inconsistencies of salaries between the different colleges for development staff and how this impacts employee's interest in outside positions or going to other colleges which wears down loyalty.

    Pros

Health Ins. Is ok but low wages.

    Cons

Low low wages. I reviewed your amounts reported and all are almost $10,000 higher than actually paid.

    Advice to Management

Leave. The State of Kansas is broke and heavily taxed.

    Pros

The Political Science department is more than a group of colleagues but become more of a family. They are very professional and willing to help.

    Cons

The only con is the job position structure does not allow for salary or job growth within the position. That is not a problem with the department of the school but a problem by the state.

Thanks for sharing your great experience working in the Political Science department. Your Cons feedback provides great insight to share.
