I worked at Kantar Media full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible start times each day between 6:30-9:30am

    Cons

The pay is far less than the workload they put on you. Don't expect to get a clear answer from management regarding anything. Additionally, the management in general are beyond incompetent, and you will always be told they don't know, or they're not the right person to talk to, etc. The buck is always being passed around and no one has the courage in management to own responsibility for anything. They've been outsourcing to India and downsizing a lot over the last 6 months, so don't be surprised if you're let go without warning.

    Advice to Management

Put people in management that actually can lead, and will take not only the pay increase, but the additional responsibility. Start trying to actually care about your employees instead of utilizing them as a mini-sweat shop. Listen to the concerns they have, since they're the ones doing the work.

I have been working at Kantar Media full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits are pretty good - health, dental, life, legal insurance. Also education benefits.
Good group of coworkers and management team locally. My own managers are awesome.
I've had success using the employee development programs (paid Toastmaster membership, opportunity to self-educate if you step up and ask to) and flexibility available to me to advance. Play the work-hard-work-smart game and you'll do well. Miss either one and you'll stagnate as advancement in the production environment is rare enough to be extremely competitive.
    Lots of work-life flexibility.

    Cons

I'm not a big fan of what feels like constant restructuring and the lack of compensation raises. It comes off as making the company appear weak and creates insecurity and low morale in the workforce. I understand why a lot of this happens and where it's headed, but I'm not entirely positive about the outlook.

    Advice to Management

Get your act together. I like working here as do others I know, but it's often very tempting to talent to go elsewhere if the grass appears greener. (I'm referring to the powers that be at senior management, and at the parent company WPP - local management is fantastic.)

I worked at Kantar Media full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great chance to learn a wide variety of market research and data analysis strategies, ability to be exposed to clients and hard-working environment

    Cons

Not enough exposure to upper management, no transparency in company matters and no chance for me to grow my professional career

    Advice to Management

Grow the team more and foster a more team-like environment. I felt so secluded and alone since there was only 4 of us in a team.

    Pros

The people are wonderful. Local management takes a real interest in ensuring a work/life balance.

    Cons

Parent company has removed decent raises, bonuses and eliminated dedicated long time employees to move a significant number of jobs offshore. There is almost no opportunity for advancement within the company.

    Advice to Management

Continue to support your direct reports.
