I worked at Kaplan International full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Big name on the resume, good place to gain some experience. It’s a meaningful job sometimes. Some great co-workers (but they all leave eventually)

    Cons

Very high turnover rate. Always hiring and someone leaving. Low pay and PTOs. Failing industry and poor management. Mid managers are those who stick around not because they are good.

I worked at Kaplan International full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Easy to get unpaid time off if needed.

    Cons

The customer is king, the worker little more than a liability

    Advice to Management

I understand that policy comes down from corporate and there is little the local management can do otherwise.

I have been working at Kaplan International full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Yearly raises, good sick/vacation package. Lots of social opportunities and great co-workers.

    Cons

Huge corporate business, no personal touches: there is no HR, IT, Marketing on site which can be very challenging to get questions answered. The business is struggling in the current political climate.

    Advice to Management

    Invest more in Marketing

I have been working at Kaplan International full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Flexible work schedules, a very empowering atmosphere, no one is too important to speak with. Upper management takes employee input seriously.

    Cons

Easy to stretch oneself thin, if you want more responsibility, management is willing to let you try new initiatives. Pay could be better.

    Advice to Management

The biggest selling point here is the enthusiasm and energy that people bring into this job. Keep the lines of communication open, even if the feedback isn't what you want to hear. This is how we weathered and storm and came back strong. Our people and their ideas and energy are what make us strong.

I worked at Kaplan International full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Multi cultural colleagues, wonderful students.

    Cons

Terrible management. Total boys' club. Very little chance to grow with the company. Upper management would appoint new people to new positions, no chance/voice given to internal applicants most of the time. Many complained about a sexist manager, he got promoted, complainers got laid off or left on their own. David Jones went around the schools and suggested employees email their ideas and suggestions for company... improvement/growth. We did, never heard back from him. The company is losing its integrity. It's all about the bottom line.
