I have been working at Kaplan University full-time

    Pros

By comparison slightly higher pay than the industry in Admissions. If you do well, flexible time schedule with potential for work from home

    Cons

Low raises 1%, management/leadership introduce initiatives before they are ready. Programs are offered by simply don't have the potential for students to complete and make a good living. Retention for students in in 20% range, while graduates is less than 5%

    Advice to Management

Plan initiatives before releasing new programs

I have been working at Kaplan University full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Pay is higher then average, decent benefits including free tuition for employees.

    Cons

Low employee morale, no opportunity for advancement, micromanagement is a huge problem, inconsistent training, there is also a huge disconnect in management and culture between campuses and Kaplan University as a whole.

    Advice to Management

Focus on employee morale and creating an environment where people want to succeed rather then focusing on punishments and micromanaging.

    Pros

Good people employed here, you won't find better. Good benefits, work/life balance. Job is not difficult.

    Cons

No job security. Goals impossible to attain consistently month in and month out. For-profit universities declining in enrollment (non profits are now playing in this on-line space) so leads are poor. You can be a top performer and still lose your job.

    Advice to Management

For profit on line universities will have to redefine themselves to compete with all other universities now offering on line classes and degrees.

    Pros

    decent hourly rate
    thats it

    Cons

mass hiring is done and then mass layoff within 1st year
communicate termination structure before offering positions to people
not about the student, its about the sales numbers only
    unrealistic sales goals
    arrogant leadership
    micro management at its finest

    Advice to Management

tell employees the sales structure of the position before offering employment

I have been working at Kaplan University full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company has some of the best benefits (health, dental, PTO, etc.) I have had. The dress code is very casual (T-Shirts and jeans are ok).

    Cons

Absolutely no job security. The company seems to focus more on writing employees up and setting unrealistic goals that are not attainable. They obviously fire employees constantly and then just hire new ones to replace those who have been lost.

    Advice to Management

Invest more in your existing employees, instead of trying to get rid of employees only to replace them with new ones.

I worked at Kaplan University full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The consultative sales techniques you're taught are easily transferrable to other positions and the ability to take classes for another degree are nice.

    Cons

Where do I start. The calls are sent to you from another call center who is just trying to hit their numbers of calls transferred. These people filled something out saying they may be interested in pursuing higher education while browsing facebook or applying for jobs because they're out of work. These people are typically lazy and won't help you hit the insane sales goals set for you every month. Management has no idea what the hell they're doing as policies seem to change every day. The price of a bachelors degree from an online college shouldn't be $64000. That is predatory.

    Advice to Management

Quit. You're horrible at your job and should find something else to do with your time besides rip downtrodden people off and harass your employees.

    Pros

    Salary, benefits, flexibility, team, workshops

    Cons

Our manager at the Rockville campus was two faced, displayed favoritism, unfair and unpleasant. She is probably still there because she lied and deceived upper management over and again. Micromanagement to the max. She Only cared about getting numbers.....didn't care about what the students needed.

    Advice to Management

Stop micromanaging people and causing office issues within the team
