I have been working at Kappa Search full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I came in knowing very little about recruiting and they created a very healthy environment to grow and thrive in. The owners are on-site daily and committed to helping you grow as a recruiter and see everything in a long-term view, which is great if you find yourself in a temporary rut. The growth path is laid out in front of you on day one and is very achievable with the right work ethic. Great office atmosphere that encourages open dialogue and everyone is happy for each other's deal, even if you're going head-to-head with a co-worker on an order.

    Cons

It's a smaller office, so if you're expecting large group gatherings and a vast amount of orders to switch between, this is not the place for you. That being said, the smaller setting works great for the more one-on-one attention to growth and training and everyone gets a better feel for the orders that are in the office due to the close proximity of the employees.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing. You've created a formula that clearly works with your 25 years of success. Your always open door is very welcoming for questions from how to improve as a recruiter as well as which orders are hottest and what direction to steer my attention towards.

I worked at Kappa Search full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I worked at Kappa Search for over 6 years, beginning as a recruiter and then moving to sales and eventually management of the recruiting team. The company has an extremely fun culture. In nearly all cases, hard work leads to success at Kappa Search, and success is always highly rewarded. The job can be incredibly lucrative, even for someone newly out of college. For a seasoned recruiter, Kappa Search offers a lot of authority and autonomy in running your desk as you see best fit as long as you conduct yourself with honesty and integrity. In addition to the compensation opportunities, you also have the opportunity to gain a lot of general business knowledge and have input into how the business is managed.

    Cons

As in any good recruiting job, production is the ultimate measure of your contribution to the company. A Kappa Search recruiter position is best fit for those who love to work hard, compete and win, and you must have this orientation in order to succeed at Kappa Search.

    Advice to Management

Keep adapting to changes in the market. Keep the place light and fun. Keep rewarding the team for their successes.

I worked at Kappa Search full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I have been with Kappa Search for 8 years and it has been an amazing place to grow my career and learn. Kappa Search provides you the tools that you need to succeed. People that come in and hit the phones have nothing but success. The environment at Kappa is a work hard play hard and the people and the owners are what really makes Kappa a great place to work. They teach you and drive home that you must always be learning and adjusting to what the markets are yielding. If you have a drive inside you and you take pride in your work then I would recommend Kappa Search to you. No one can do your job for you, if you can come in, get your work done, take ownership of what you do, then you can make some great money and have a great work/life balance.

Upper management sets up different contests to further drive production and will also set up employee appreciation/parties a couple times a year. I enjoyed coming into office and working with the people and the owners, I won't say that about all the jobs that I've had.

They also have a nice week long office shut down over Christmas to let them employees take some extra time to be with friends and family and to re-charge the battery a bit.

    Cons

If you don't come in and put forth solid effort then you will not survive. Kappa Search will back you if you are putting in good effort and learn from mistakes. Recruiting is a numbers game, if you are not making the calls and doing the job, your tenure will be short lived.

    Advice to Management

Keep driving employees to work hard and to learn. The opportunity is there and I know that the people working there see it, keep them hungry.

    Pros

There is a strong potential to make $60-80k your first year out of college here, as long as you put the time in. Very motivating commission structure and management rewards hard work generously. Young, exciting and energetic office environment with a staff that is always looking out for each other and finding ways to help one another.

    Cons

The job market is tumultuous but there are tenured account managers who can help recognize good opportunities from bad ones. If you aren't looking for a fast-paced, high rewarding position in sales then Kappa Search is not for you.

    Advice to Management

Keep investing in the younger talent at Kappa Search, early success is the key to sustained success. Institute company wide training session 3-4 times a year to keep everyone fresh and on the same page with the processes.

I have been working at Kappa Search full-time

    Pros

Not a lot of pros here. Location is nice, I guess. If the company does well, they will do spur of the moment outings.

    Cons

100% COMMISSION PEOPLE. Scary for most, thrilling for a few. Not a professional environment at all. No training in place at all. Extreme amount of turnover - they'll hire new grads every year, and by the same year will have to hire just as many to replace all the ones that left.
