Review is on the United States portion of Karndean. They have an amazing assortment of products (vinyl flooring - wood and stone looks). The health benefits are decent compared to what other companies offer. The PTO offered is exceptional (which is what keeps a lot of people working for the company). The pay is also on the higher end (but can also be a con).

The lack of leadership from upper management can be difficult to navigate through. If you are not in a management position your ideas and thoughts are not valued, even though the try to make you believe that they will listen to them. If you are not in the "inner" circle you are basically treated as if you don't exist. It is a very cliquey environment where you will often hear others (management included) gossiping about employees. The open floor plans in the offices make it difficult to avoid hearing others talking about you. If you are not part of the cool kids you can forget it. You are also hired into a position with the promise of getting promoted, but there is only so far you can go and then you are stuck with no forward advancement. Your days become very mundane and monotonous. You are basically thrown into the fire to learn your specific role and not provided a lot of guidance, but beware if you make a mistake - this will be held against you for some time (and the gossip will begin). If you know someone internally - you are also golden, there are a lot of family members and friends working in positions that they are not qualified for. There is also a lot of favoritism and these people can get away with almost anything and are not held accountable for their actions and how they treat people. (All of these comments are based on what happens in the United States)

    Advice to Management

Don't become part of the problem, help fix it. Be accessible to your employees and listen to what is really going on around the office. There are a lot of unhappy people, they just keep quiet because they are afraid of retaliation.
