I worked at Karur Vysya Bank full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Actually none. The only pro i can count is salary is credited timely which is actually peanuts according to the work done. Half of which goes while travelling to home in holidays.

    Cons

Can write a lot of pages in this column. The bank is biased when it comes to people of rest of India and people of tamil nadu. North Indians never get their desired place. They can post you to a place 1500 kms away from your home and you should not complain about it. Inspite of getting posted as an officer you may be bound to work as a clerk that too for an indefinite period. The management wants business in north india but they wont open branches in north. Out of 700 branches in India (yes a 100 year old bank has only 700 branches pan india) almost 80 percent are present in states of tamil nadu and andhra pradesh. Asking for a leave is an Herculean task as if you would have asked for a share in the manager's will. If you learn something you are only bound to do that. Nobody will bother to do that work afterwards. I can continue with a lot more things but i guess its more than enough. Last and most important thing. Please allow the staff to leave early. Sitting everyday for 12 hours will create more frustration.

    Advice to Management

Kindly open more branches in Northern part of India as your presence is limited as compared to other banks. Have a humane behaviour towards the staff and place them near their hometown. That might help in increasing the business. And please end this late sitting thing. Almost everyone is fed up with this culture of yours.
