Good for a Summer Job in College
May 12, 2023 - Seasonal Sales AssociateRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The Company exudes positivity and grace, and this trickles down within management and translates to the ways they not only treat employees and guests, but the way they run their company. It pays decent for a retail job while you are in school/ working other jobs.
Cons
At my location, it was very dependent on whether management liked you. I went from being very well-liked to eh, but I was also a student going back to school and started to request fewer shifts closer to that date so I didn't care. The one thing that absolutely SUCKS is the fact that the customer has to say your name up at the register, at my location customers were complaining that they weren't able to shop in peace lol! Employees are so focused on meeting their quotas for the day that they need to make sure the customer remembers their name at the register which is an extremely uncomfortable and unnatural way of communication. Hopefully they've fixed this by now so that SAs can do help people who need help in peace, and customers who want peace can get some!

May 25, 2023 - Supervisor in Las Vegas, NVRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Opportunities for growth. Put in the time and work and management will recognize your work. Started from back of house and moved up in the time I was there.
Cons
An eventual ceiling cap. You can get far, but only so much. Have not tried to break through the ceiling/

Great Place To Work!
Mar 3, 2023 - Sales Associate in San Marcos, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
It's a fun environment! It hardly feels like work, and they play some great tunes! Almost always, there is something to oooh and ahhh about within their gorgeous collections. This makes the sales associate's job a breeze because the pieces practically sell themselves and serve as great talking points with clients. The employee discount and wardrobing are fantastic. The hours are great for students or anyone interested in working a few hours a week or on weekends.
Cons
There is no official uniform, but the dress code requirements are bland, and unless you wear head-to-toe Kate Spade (this can get expensive), you risk being sent home to change because the color you're wearing is not the right shade of the allowed color or print. The hours are extremely limited. I would be scheduled to work a 4-hour weekend shift, and on occasion, the shift would be cut by the second hour. This job is great if you'd like to supplement your existing income, not as a stand-alone employment unless you plan to apply for management. Only management is almost always guaranteed FT with benefits. All other employees are hired part-time without benefits.

Pros
Possible monthly bonus if you make store’s monthly goals, focus on work/life balance, sick time is considered “wellness time”(encouraged to use for dr. Appointments), great products, discount on retail and outlet for tapestry brands
Cons
Inconsistent schedule, hard to take vacations during holidays, physical and mental toll of retail, standing for most the day

Pros
Limited but almost free wardrobe. Almost Never anything I would wear and almost always would fit wrong.
Cons
Unbelievable and unattainable goals. Sometimes we could make sales for the month but only because resellers would come in and spend thousands. Then company said they can’t do that and we were supposed to say no. But your store manager (well really everyone) wants to make plan so we just let them go. So that starts the bad culture of let’s bend all the rules. They want us to capture 95% off all guests info… well if they don’t want to give it what are we supposed to do… so manager puts in fake names and her staff follows. Manager steals sales from her workers on the floor when she rings them up. Again so others follow and everyone starts stealing. How is it I’m the only one working the floor on Black Friday, 3 people on register and not one single transaction is rung under me???? Every cashier only rang under herself. Just bad culture. And then they get bonuses and praise and what not….
