I worked at Katherines Catering full-time

    Pros

All the mandatory overtime you can handle before it kills you.

    Cons

This company provides no support from upper management to those who work hard. Instead, Katherine rewards management who shirks their responsibilities and runs their departments with no regard for regular reviews or pay raises. Servers are expected to work drop offs or food runs with no experience or training with the service manager nowhere to be found.
The amount of drama at this company is just awful, and it is all created by upper management who are incapable of being professional, it all starts with Katherine Farrell.
For a small company, employees are treated like scum. You have to fight for maternity leave, vacation, time off, raises, reviews or even feedback. Sick time is essentially not an option.

    Advice to Management

Hire more service staff and actually train your employees.
Hire more kitchen staff, the cooks run the kitchen and events while working 12-20 hour shifts 6 days a week, despite the exec and sous chef going home early and never going to events.
There is no "teamwork" at this company. Everything gets pushed onto non salary employees who never go home and never get thanked.

I have been working at Katherines Catering part-time

    Pros

Pick your own hours and decent pay.

    Cons

They'll change your schedule without telling you and expect you to be able to change plans at a moments notice. Management cannot be reached unless Aubrey feels like picking up the phone. No training. Quitting tomorrow.

    Pros

Katherine's Catering has a great name in the Ann Arbor area, and I enjoy talking about where I work when I am asked by people that I meet. We have opportunity to work for great clients and we often coordinate high end events. Also the pay is very competative, especially once you include benefits and the ability to work directly with management helps if you ever have any persnal issues.

    Cons

It is a small-ish company, so some of the opportunities that you might have working for a large company aren't there, i.e. big bonuses and promotions.

  8. "Great Place to Work"

    Pros

It is a very energetic place to work. Everyone likes going to work, and often stays late to finish their job because we all like doing it well.

    Cons

Sometimes new hires are made that don't fit with the rest of the company. They might work really slow or they could be negative people. They don't usually last very long though.

    Advice to Management

Keep growing the company. It has been around a long time, and I know that a lot of people would support further growth.
