I worked at Kautex full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Basic training for manufacturing. This place makes any other occupation and facility a dream. You can survive here; you can survive anywhere. Be ready to work 14-16 hours a day. 6 days a week. Be ready for phone calls around the clock.

    Cons

Dysfunctional management on steroids. Bureaucratic system on steroids.
    Sink or swim
    No training
Only those who work get recognized with more work. No incentive
People who fly under the radar and play politics get promoted

    Advice to Management

Stop thinking corporate. The company is still Mom and pop shop. You have a small group of great people working on survival mode. Roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty. Learn to work together. Management needs to take leadership course 101. Hazing is not allowed and being professional is very important. Micromanagement leads to destroyed commitment and destroyed control for the employee. It leads to no empowerment and no motivation.

    Pros

    I can't think of any.

    Cons

A lot of money invested in the line, but not a lot invested in people. Management don't care what you do and don't give you necessary resource / tool / tech support. They do or say everything to scare and threaten you to lower scrap rate and increase OEE. They only care about numbers. This company can ruin your career so easily. New grads have to watch out for yourselves. People who talk big and don't spend time in learning engineering was favored. People who want to learn about engineering and technology was discouraged.

    Advice to Management

A company that makes product needs intelligent people who know about engineering and technology. After all, technology is what drives productivity. This company has too many politicians and bosses who only gives requirement, not a lot of people who know process or technology.
