I worked at Kaweah Delta Health Care District full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    The other stressed out nurses.

    Cons

Understaffed, no support, administration including Human Resources do not support their nurses. They are cold and only think of the money. Constantly out off ratio even though California has set ratios they break them every shift. Leads take full groups so they are not a resource for all the new nurses, since so many veteran nurses have left to find more supportive hospitals to work in. Sentinel effect waiting to happen.

    Advice to Management

Support your nurses! Back them up!

I worked at Kaweah Delta Health Care District part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Some of the staff were friendly

    Cons

Dirty disrespectful supervisors that used their authority to intimidate regular employees.

    Advice to Management

Check on your employees cause some supervisors are really disrespectful and employees don't say anything because they need their job.

    Pros

Kaweah Delta stays on top of the latest technology and constantly strives to help employee better themselves and how they deliver care to their customers. Kaweah Delta has excellent salary and benefits.

    Cons

Kaweah Delta is such a large employer that it is easy to get lost in the middle of 4300 employees; however, this is a problem all big companies face.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees when they bring issues to your attention.

I worked at Kaweah Delta Health Care District full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Workflow runs much more smoothly than most hospitals. For nurses and CNAs the charting is simple and easier than Curner. Salary is better for nurses.

    Cons

The culture sucks. A lot of bullying among staff. I've seen 4 nurses in my unit alone leave because of workplace harassment. I heard of a few more when I moved to another facility l. Telemetry had a huge turnover rate. When I transitioned from full time to per firm in Tele to go to nursing school, the manager asked me to consider a pay deduction. I worked there for 5 years, if you're going to work less hours, shouldn't you get more? This is the culture of Kaweah. You are nothing more than a body filling in a shift.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your employees. Treat them with respect. If you had >10 employees leave within a year and they've been there forever, what does that tell you about your leadership skills?

I worked at Kaweah Delta Health Care District (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Co-workers were great, some doctors are good to work with.

    Cons

Upper management is poor. Achieved magnet status by hand picking the rn's to interview and fed us all the lines to say to interviewees. Poor pay , No OT after 8 hrs. If you speak your mind, you might lose your job. They always find a way to take more from you and give you less. Very political upper management. Never once in 7 years did any of them introduce themselves or say hi when walking through the halls. You are just a number here.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your nurses and staff for feedback on how to improve work conditions. Executives are like politicians, they are liars!b

I worked at Kaweah Delta Health Care District full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Desperate for RNs at this time. easy to get hired for new grads, no political drama. Bonus pay for overtime is significant

    Cons

Low pay, slow salary increase. Theres always something broken and always under construction. They force RNs to do more work to "improve results" but don't fix the staffing first which is the main problem
