I have been working at KeHE Distributors full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good pay, lots of overtime, great environment, good medical benefits, bonuses, employee stock ownership program, profit sharing, continued job all year long.

    Cons

Not much to say, just that there is too much overtime in the holidays. Family and friends may seem affected because you don't have time for them.

    Advice to Management

    Take care of your associates

    Cons

*30 miles or more from my house sometimes only for a small amount of work.
*Late trucks take away from the flexibility

    * Sales Reps sometimes over order.

    Advice to Management

Communicate with your staff. Stop blaming stockers for sales reps over ordering and creating excess backstock.

    Pros

Not one thing positive about the Portland facility. Company seems to be growing. Benefits from day 1 and employee stock options after 1 year.

    Cons

The management staff of this facility are racist and vindictive. One assiciate was referred to as "Monkey" on several occasions. Another was called "leprechaun " in front of all employees. A member of management drug a receiving associate around the warehouse floor in a group meeting with all associates present. The managers have their favorites and let them get away with taking long breaks, lunches, and doing nothing all day. They force the hardworkers to make up the slack. They demand stay until the work is done but then let people leave early creating long days (10-14 hrs) for everyone else. If you complain about one of the favorites, the managers will take away your weekly incentive to teach you a lesson. If you try to go to HR with any issues, the management just sweep it under the rug. They claim to be #1 but the falsify their numbers to be #1. The associates have no respect for building management because they know they will not do anything about it because they are too worried about their turnover rate. To much turnover means the managers dont get as big of a bonus. Management let people no call no show for weeks before terminating. One associate walked out in shift and the managers were calling him to see if he wanted his job back. They are aware of thieves in the bldg but will not fire them. All the managers do is go outside and smoke all day. You will have no life if you work here, will be mistreated and disrespected.

    Advice to Management

Replace all managers in the Portland facility.

I have been working at KeHE Distributors full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Profit sharing, employee owned, and growing in a competitive marketplace. Being part of an employee owned company means most employees feel empowered to save the company money and puts more in our profit sharing and stock options.

    Cons

Lack of training opportunities. There is a lot of "on the job training" which is not always bad. However, as the company grows, programs like 1WOW (1 way of working) has helped simplify procedures within departments as around the country.

    Advice to Management

Provide more training options to employees.
