I worked at Keane UP full-time

    Pros

They have very talented people that are under utilized

    Cons

Unfortunately its a bit of gentlemen's club and was not about to change. If you were not part of the favorites, you were not there long. It was a very toxic environment of which management would talk about everyone behind their back to get ahead.

    Advice to Management

Grow up and realize that when so many people leave you might want to look in a mirror

I worked at Keane UP full-time

    Pros

The best years of working for Keane are gone but they were great. They used to have a nice Holiday party at Hershey Hotel but now they can't afford it. They used to offer a go away trip for those their favorite employees, but that's also been cancelled.

    Cons

A capital venture group is behind the failings of this once great company. Upper Management is weak with little character and no vision for people or the company. They are vulgar and I'm amazed that they haven't been sued for the way they treat people by cursing at them and creating a very hositle environment.

    Advice to Management

Legacy is greater than money. Listen to the people in the trenches and get your act together. You better update your resume.

I worked at Keane UP full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Commission for non-sales positions (since discontinued). Mostly young people in the New York office, really solid people. Challenging genealogy work that can be rewarding. Plenty of time given to learn the position. Matching 401(k) contributions.

    Cons

So so many cons. Management imposes ridiculous minimums and requirements on their people in order the meet the demands of the board (who have no fundamental understanding of the work the company does). Compensation structure that doesn't reward hard work. C-level execs can't be bothered to listen and absorb constructive input from their employees. Poisonous and backstabbing work environment.

    Advice to Management

I don't know. Run it better? Not sure how it's been since I was laid off.

I have been working at Keane UP full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-A great way to gain experience, most Account Executives don't have the skill set to work in a professional environment. The training will help with furthering your career long term.
    - Nice title, the job is really inside sales, however the title can be used to enhance your resume.
    - Advice: Get hired and dump before your one year anniversary.

    Cons

    - Lower and upper management use "window dressing" sales games to increase productivity. The type of sales this industry has is unique, therefore one must work hard to get a client contract and the time frame from sale to payout is long and a sale is not guaranteed . Management is aware of this concept but will lie about your productivity and will make you feel that your numbers are lower than average by upping your sales goals each month. This creates a Gestapo work environment which induces unnecessary stress.
    - Company is owned by a private equity firm, which rapes the company and prevents growth.

    Advice to Management

    - Upper and lower management need to treat their employees with honesty and respect, and end the childish games.
-Stand up to the incessant raping of the company and promote growth.

I have been working at Keane UP full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Paid Holidays (Especially for Jews)

    Cons

    Low salary
    0.0000001 style of commission
    Doesn't help career
    Rude & Disrespectful upper management

    Advice to Management

To upper management: You only cares about the numbers. Your employees are working in a service based industry that has to deal with the families of deceased shareowners. If they got better pay and didn't have upper management angry for every little thing that happens, then I'm sure your workers would have a great dedication in their work. The cutthroat style of your office is too much to handle, you should learn from your lower management staff, they do a much better job running their departments than you do in running the business.

    Pros

Pretty good pay and good benefits.
Depending what your position is, commissions can be VERY lucrative.

    Cons

employees are routinely "encouraged" to stay later and come in on weekends. Names are taken of the people who do this.

Communication is terrible. Messages from different levels are often conflicting.

    Advice to Management

Really THINK about the policies you are enacting before setting them in motion. Maybe invite different groups to vet the changes before adopting them - and then changing them back a day later after huge negative feedback or unrealized consequences rear their heads.

Give new ideas more than a knee-jerk reaction before shooting them down and making people feel like crap.

Communicate more openly across your groups - we all still work together but have no idea what is being told to the other guys.

Start hiring - LOTS of employees are looking for alternatives.

    Pros

base salary of 45K plus a 5% commission package to start. Excellent benefits including education reimbursement.

    Cons

Toxic work environment. Upper management constantly wanting more. Owned by private equity firm, constantly looking to hire cheaper to skim the fat off the top.

    Advice to Management

    your employees are people too.

I worked at Keane UP full-time

    Pros

Good hours, semi-formal attire at the office, convenient location, easy to work cross-functionally.

    Cons

Very low chance of moving up the ranks, management to employee status was very obvious and changing things took a very long time.

    Advice to Management

Allow for input in both directions, more communication between management and employees.
