I worked at Keefe Commissary full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Keefe was very stable with all the benefits of a larger company.

    Cons

Though they talk a lot about being a family, there was actually very little action taken to show they held much respect or care for employees not in executive positions and/or within a select group of people. Not a lot of opportunities were presented to employees for growth, and ideas/recommendations weren't taken seriously on a regular basis.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to the individuals actually keeping the business moving. They have a lot to say, and what they have to say can actually be beneficial to the company and moving business forward.

I worked at Keefe Commissary (Less than a year)

    Pros

Company was sold - need reorganization and firings of old guard.

    Cons

Some of the managers and directors were some of the most incompetent, unfair and vindictive people you will every encounter. Staff turn over is constant due to unfair practices.

    Advice to Management

    Fire yourself then start over.

I worked at Keefe Commissary (Less than a year)

    Pros

I worked with some of the best people with DOC they made it easy to work the position that I was in.

    Cons

The commissary that I worked in was very busy, it would have helped if I had someone to take some of the pressure of me like an assistant

    Advice to Management

    Need to add another worker.

If you are easily intimated, this job is not for you.
It's a prison environment so that can be a downside for some

I have been working at Keefe Commissary full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The work is not challenging and management is very understanding that their own infrastructure is well behind the times when you aren't able to complete a task. With the customer base Keefe services it really doesn't matter how inefficient the internal processes are. not sure if you can ever get fired here unless you don't show up.

    Cons

the work environment and customer base along with the low pay. I feel like myself and a couple of others are on call much more often than the rest of the people i work with.

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to sell the services we have that don't work.

    Pros

I loved this job. My assistant manager was awesome. She made sure everything went smooth when I was being trained. I was a good candidate for the position I worked and always was busy doing things. Never a dull moment. I would work for this company again.

    Cons

The Cons to this job were very few. I at times had trouble with other employees in getting them to do what they needed top do. I was a production clerk so I often had to set out carts and tags and make sure that they did what they were supposed to do. Sometimes it was a challenge.

    Advice to Management

Keep plugging along, there will sometimes be employees that are non compliant but they can be replaced for better candidates. I enjoyed working for Keefe very much.. It was a good job to bring my office skills up to par!

I have been working at Keefe Commissary full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

This company is always growing, and management is willing to allow you to move positions to challenge yourself.

    Cons

An entrenched "this is the way we've always done it" attitude sometimes mires management from adapting to needed shifts in technological focus.

    Advice to Management

Spend money on infrastructure, both for buildings and staff to build the business.
