I have been working at Keene State College full-time

    Pros

Small, intimate campus; collegial atmosphere; tenure requirements extremely reasonable, starting salaries on low side, but good benefit package. Some great people, for instance librarians, OSPR office, etc.

    Cons

No to very little funding for research; little to no funding for guests or special events; teaching load too high with no teaching assistants thus one has no time left to do one's own research. Unfortunately far away from any major city, so with no funding for travel, it is difficult to entice visiting professors or artists to do class visits.

I worked at Keene State College (Less than a year)

    Pros

Professors are fantastic with students in regards to student researching. Individuals interested should show grit and an interest in research to continue doing well. Hours can be very flexible depending on who you work under.

    Cons

If you're interested in a large school feel then I wouldn't attend this college. Also, depending on your outlook on competitiveness the competition is scarce.
