I have been working at Keene State College full-time

    Pros

A lot of nice people work here. Area is nice.

    Cons

Lack of leadership and sense of team. Some in upper-level positions are greatly abusing their roles, offering very little to the college community. There are also some terribly toxic people whose behavior borders on abusive. This is destructive to moral. Sense of team is absent. There is a sense of every man for himself.

    Advice to Management

Take a very hard look at those in leadership positions. Moral is low for a reason. This could be a great campus, but the truth needs to surface.

I have been working at Keene State College full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Bright talented students from New Hampshire's middle class are a joy. Fine colleagues, excellent economics program.

    Cons

Constant budget cuts. Marketing does not show off what we actually do.

    Advice to Management

Inspire us, even if we have no money, we can have inspiration.

I have been working at Keene State College full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Small community. There are many good first generation students who come here. They do have some funding for undergraduate research.

    Cons

Unfortunately this is a terrible place to work. They are constantly having administrative transition and cannot retain talent or students.

    Advice to Management

Focus on making this a better place to work. Focus on supporting academic departments. Get rid of all the high priced consultants.

I have been working at Keene State College full-time

    Pros

Good environment if you're looking to make some new friends. Everythings close on campus

    Cons

I feel like by the end of a 4 year term you should be somewhat of an expert at your field, i feel like 4 years was not nearly enough for my teachers to give us the proper education and training that is actually applicable to the real world after homework and tests..

    Advice to Management

    None..

I have been working at Keene State College full-time

    Pros

Small, intimate campus; collegial atmosphere; tenure requirements extremely reasonable, starting salaries on low side, but good benefit package. Some great people, for instance librarians, OSPR office, etc.

    Cons

No to very little funding for research; little to no funding for guests or special events; teaching load too high with no teaching assistants thus one has no time left to do one's own research. Unfortunately far away from any major city, so with no funding for travel, it is difficult to entice visiting professors or artists to do class visits.
