I worked at Keener Communications part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There is nothing positive about this company.

    Cons

excessive micromanagement, gossip throughout, training needs much attention, most supervisors are unprofessional, horrendous amount of turnover

    Advice to Management

Open your minds to change and see that what you are doing is NOT WORKING. Repetitive processes do not teach anyone anything.

I have been working at Keener Communications full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very helpful call center managers. Relaxed environment. No sales. Focus is on service, service, service.

    Cons

Sometimes difficult to plan for family events because schedule can be inconsistent. Base pay is too low and with weekly performance bonuses it is ok at best. Can be stressful when not enough people on the phones.

    Advice to Management

Improve communication and training. Find a way to make weekly schedules more consistent. Get to know your employees better.

    Pros

Laid back, casual atmosphere, some employees very nice, supervisors care a lot about their teams, ability to work from home

    Cons

Family owned, small, not much room for advancement

    Advice to Management

Consistency is needed, and communication needs to be improved

I have been working at Keener Communications full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

In my experience, Keener Communications has one of the most warm and welcoming work environments I've encountered. The more senior members of the staff are always willing to help, and the newest members of the team are treated like part of the Keener family from the first day. Joy in the workplace is one of their core values and it shows. They also offer the option to work from home after you've been with the company for a year.

    Cons

There are only a few "cons" I'd put any emphasis on. There is a six month waiting period for medical benefits, which isn't terrible, but ninety days would be better. Compensation is done as base pay with a pay-for-performance bonus added into your weekly pay if certain benchmarks are met. The PFP bonus is decent, but base pay could be better. Schedules fluctuate based around business needs, so getting a set schedule is difficult at best.

    Advice to Management

The training process is a bit disjointed and could use improvement. Individual training for some of the more complicated accounts would be beneficial.

I have been working at Keener Communications full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

relaxed call center, other operators are cool, can wear whatever you want, a lot of the clients are nice, can trade schedules with operators if you want a day or time off

    Cons

have to work every weekend, really stressful, not enough staff, management doesn't care about call center or employees, hard to get time off for kids or family events

    Advice to Management

hire a manager who knows what actually goes on in the call center or hire a manager that is available to employees (aka no more Get Loaded employees)

    Pros

Flexible work schedules, very good pay, chill and relaxed work environment, and nice people that you work with in the call center

    Cons

horrible callers most of the time, under staffed, pressure and no respect from management, hard to get time off, and just don't worth it.

I have been working at Keener Communications full-time

    Pros

    -Work from home ability
    -Reachable Performance based pay incentives
-Extra money for doing additional work (Training, ect.)
    -Awesome "Admin" Staff (Upper Management)
-Everyone gets along with each other
-"Open Door Policy" is ACTUALLY just that. Management listens to feedback

    Cons

    -It can get busy
-It isn't meant for people who don't work well under stress

    Advice to Management

I really don't have any advice. Of all the jobs I have had in my career thus far. This has been my most favorite place to work. All jobs have their issues, you can't escape that reality working with a diverse group of people. However, I can't imagine working for anyone else. The Keener's are really great people and truly, truly care about their employees.

    Pros

Love the family atmosphere and felt like part of the family from day one.

    Cons

Sometimes it is hard to go from one call to the next emotionally since we deal with from Death calls to Service Calls.

    Advice to Management

Only advice I would give is to be compassionate, understanding, helpful and knowledgeable for new and current employees to be able to depend on when needed.
