I have been working at Keesler Federal Credit Union full-time

    Pros

Good benefits for employees. KFCU has good reputation in market. They have great loan rates for members. They seem to be working to improve the workplace for team members.

    Cons

For being the largest credit union in the state of MS, their compensation lags well behind other financial institutions. They seem to be the training ground for tellers and other staff. KFCU trains them and they go work for someone else at a higher pay. The Board has a lot of military members and they run the CU like the government. KFCU has great potential if they would use the resources available, pay a fair... wage and be more progressive in their planning. They talk about how great their financials are compared to other CU's. If the expenses are so low, and people are complaining about their pay and being understaffed, maybe they should see that there needs to be a balance between expenses and compensation and staffing.

    Advice to Management

Stop talking about how you value the employees and pay them a fair wage compared to other financial institutions. Don't let HR or the Board run the CU. Talk to your team members, listen to their progressive and proactive ideas and take action.
