I have been working at Kellogg Company full-time

    Pros

The company took away all of the pros. There is nothing left.

    Cons

The company is struggling and is making lots of reckless cuts. A lot of top talent has been eliminated. Those left must pick up the pieces and do the work of 5 people. Work load doesn't change even with a 25% reduction in head count. On top of this, benefits such as tuition reimbursement, bonus pay, fitness center, relocation packages are being cut or costs to employees are increasing.

    Advice to Management

We need new leaders at the very top. Middle management and below are struggling. Everyone is looking to get out.

I have been working at Kellogg Company full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The pros of the company are: senior leadership support in career development, flexible scheduling, tuition reimbursement, community involvement.

    Cons

The cons involve off shore HR and IT folks that do not have the knowledge and expertise to handle day to day business tasks or support employees that need personal assistance. Very difficult to communicate for process related issues.

    Advice to Management

Work with employees that understand the business before making decisions to outsource. Most issues with excessive budget spending and inefficiencies could be addressed by front line management without making company wide cuts.

I have been working at Kellogg Company full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good company to grow with IF you are willing to relocate.

    Cons

The expectations outweigh the resources. Leadership wants the customer to be serviced, however they cut the headcount and the equipment to make this successful. Just a very frustrating situation. Starting out short everyday.

    Advice to Management

Become more connected with reality. work alongside the lower workers and see where the issues are before you start cutting resources and headcount. Kellogg's has only been showing a profit by making cuts. The business is not growing. It is not growing because of poor business decisions. ie - Constantly changing the sales incentive model. If a sales rep is selling and growing the profits, why would you put them on salary and cap them?

I worked at Kellogg Company full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great people, great brands and employees support each other.

    Cons

Company is going through a lot of transition and it is a tough time for CPG companies in general and Kellogg in specific. No job security and a lot of anxiety about layoffs. Lots of shifts in direction , changes in strategy and people feel like they don't know if they'll have a job tomorrow.

    Advice to Management

Have a clear vision of what the company will do to work through the issues related to declining sales.

    Pros

Exceptional culture. Leadership and employees held accountable to the company values among which are Integrity, Humility and Willingness to learn. Extremely collaborative, people freely share knowledge and actively help each other reach individual goals.

    Cons

Job stability and location. The CPG industry is challenged at this time and while the company is making appropriate decisions for the health and continued independence of of company, this leads to cost cutting and layoffs. Additiinally, Battle Creek is a dying town, not many lunch options or activities. Surrounding area is good to raise family however.
