I have been working at Kellogg Company full-time

    Pros

Opportunity - The management I've experienced has been fantastic. I've had two managers who both have given me ample responsibility and freedom to run with my project how I see fit.

People - I love the people I work with. On my (larger) team, no one takes themselves too seriously. It's quite a fun time.

Culture - The casual, family culture still lives on. I can wear the clothes I work best in to work, I'm not micro-managed, I get free cereal and I work for a company that aims to continually embed strong values that honor integrity and character.

Flexibility - The work flexibility is fantastic. I can work from home if I need to or head out of the office a few hours early if needed, and it's no big deal as long as I'm getting my work done, putting my hours in and showing good results.

    Cons

Work / Life Balance can sometimes be tough depending on your position and workload, but the flexibility is nice.

    Advice to Management

Continue to strive towards transparency and humbleness. Don't take yourself too seriously. Continue to educate every department on the true status of the company and give praise where praise is do.

    Pros

    Very good compensation and benefits

    Cons

HR was a nightmare to work in. Function undertook "transformation" with naive belief in the promises of the consultant. Direction produced neither operational effectiveness nor customer satisfaction, and, in addition, cost the company significantly more than estimated.

    Advice to Management

Drop the arrogance. Treat people with respect.

I have been working at Kellogg Company full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    • Freedom of traveling between stores, building the business and rapport with outstanding people
    • Pay structure is good bonus money is excellent if your self driven with an owners mindset
    • Company car available for use during time off
    • 401K matching and pension plan

    • Excellent flexibility in work schedule with plenty of days off

    Cons

    • Long hours 12 to 19 hour work days
    • sometimes Budgets are too high for a certain period or quarter
    • work life balance during busy times of the year can be a challenge
    • Many high quality and top performing Kellogg Sales Representatives will be laid off in August 2017 because they don't live in an area that fits the "geography" of the new business model

    Advice to Management

My last day with Kelloggs will be August 18th, 2017. I have done my part to grow the business according to the K values and build up everlasting relationships with all of my stores. I wish you would have made the decision to keep people based on Skills and Abilities like John Bryant said would be done. Instead according to many inside the organization an outside company was brought in to make those decisions based on where we live. I have put everything into my career with Kelloggs and I appreciate the severance package. You are losing one of your best KSR's. I will do everything I can in my last few months to hit all the incentives and wish everyone staying with the company nothing but the best. Good luck and best wishes to you all in the future with your new roles.

    Pros

Good pay. You make the same amount of money as a upper senior person after two years of service.

    Cons

Off when the job is done. There is no specific time you get off of work. Therefore, family time is difficult to schedule.
