I worked at Kellogg Company full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Exceptional culture. Leadership and employees held accountable to the company values among which are Integrity, Humility and Willingness to learn. Extremely collaborative, people freely share knowledge and actively help each other reach individual goals.

    Cons

Job stability and location. The CPG industry is challenged at this time and while the company is making appropriate decisions for the health and continued independence of of company, this leads to cost cutting and layoffs. Additiinally, Battle Creek is a dying town, not many lunch options or activities. Surrounding area is good to raise family however.

I worked at Kellogg Company full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great people, great brands and employees support each other.

    Cons

Company is going through a lot of transition and it is a tough time for CPG companies in general and Kellogg in specific. No job security and a lot of anxiety about layoffs. Lots of shifts in direction , changes in strategy and people feel like they don't know if they'll have a job tomorrow.

    Advice to Management

Have a clear vision of what the company will do to work through the issues related to declining sales.

    Advice to Management

Stay close to the business as we transition into the warehouse.

I have been working at Kellogg Company part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

All of the other part and full time merchandisers as well as the sales reps I work with are great; they're helpful, kind, communicate well, and they get their jobs done.

    Cons

There is a serious delay in/absence of communication when it comes to management as well as scheduling and coordination. It takes days to weeks to get responses to emails, the scheduler consistently approves days off and then schedules you for those days anyway, it's even hard to get through when making phone calls - and they aren't returned with any urgency.

They also don't pay you for your mileage, although they do pay you for the time spent traveling between stores. And if you're a part time merchandiser you do not get any medical, dental, vision, etc. benefits. You only get your hourly pay.

    Advice to Management

Communicate better; sending out a mass weekly update email to everyone is not good enough. You need to actually respond directly to individual emails and phone calls, especially when they are time-sensitive. Also, train the scheduler better or use a different scheduling system or something. There are definitely some issues going on there.

I have been working at Kellogg Company full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great Benefits and people. it is a place with may different options to advance. Lots of variability on jobs and carriers

    Cons

The down side is the constant changing of direction. Kellogg is working to find its way into the changing consumer market so it causes many changes in roles and jobs

    Advice to Management

change is needed but the constant changes have caused stress and confusion with the employees and i believe the customers as well.
