I have been working at Kellwood full-time

    Pros

Benefits, paid vacation, sick days, personal days., we hav an excellent HR team, Mary really takes your feedback seriously.

Kellwood is an amazing company, I have learned so much here, it used to feel like a family, it didn't hurt to stay late as we all used to love our jobs. Everyone gets along for the most part.

    Cons

With the recent structural and management changes this place feels very bland. The product development is no longer exciting, we have gotten rid of all of our contemporary brands and now cater to mostly fast fashion mass market, it doesn't feel creative anymore. As of late it feels very hard to grow here, we have new seniors that have very little experience and it is extremely discouraging. I used to love it here.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to the team as a whole, there is a lot of talent you are overlooking. You don't make your employees feel appreciated after overworking them.

I worked at Kellwood full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The benefits are about the only pro here.

    Cons

    Oh where do I begin...

No growth at all. If you expect to move up and grow in the company forget it. I tried for months to do this. Then when I did I was repremanded by my manager. She seemed supportive at first. However, once I informed her I was applying for another postion in the company the claws came out. Which procedure is to inform your manager if you are applying for another position in the company . For everything holy if your still here don't tell your boss. Just apply and pray you get the other postion.

I went from salray to hourly, job responsibilty was slowly stripped away (which I felt was a punishment for me applying to another psotion in the company). I was told my positon required no training. Yet I was training others around me on how to use the software!

HORRIABLE communication between departments and lack of respect between them too.

Company was bought out so this place is a mess firing and laying people off left and right! SINKING SHIP!!!

This place feels more like your working in a stale hospital box.

Management needs training on how to be professional and how to motivate team. My boss always would complain how much the design team was stupid, and gossip about other employees. She was a toxic bitter woman. Don't even get me started on the reviews she gave me. Telling me she hoped I would have left a long time ago and found a new job unprofessional !!!!

When I was salary I was working from 9 am to 10pm. Once I stopped then all hell broke lose.

Joe Lombardi hasen't been CEO for well over a year now. With the China buyout they let him go.

    Advice to Management

BE PROFESSIONAL!!!! Learn how to be a manager and have a better attitude. Stop gossiping about other departments and people. Take some happy pills if that's what it takes to be happy and training on how to actually be a good boss.

Build better communcation and respect between departments. Maybe some team building classes geesh!

Actually value and employees and growth within the company. You will have happier employees and save money in the long run. The key to success is valuing your employees which Kellwood has a long way to go!

    Pros

Great working environment - they really care about their employees. We were just acquired by a Hong Kong based company and they seem to want to make things even better.

    Cons

HR team in NY is inconsistent but my upper management makes up for it. Go forward all will be handled by CA HR who is excellent! My questions and concerns are always addressed by them.

    Advice to Management

Company Moral is huge - any small benefits help.

    Pros

People there were nice. They had minimal perks such as free lunch for the company once a year and an annual Halloween parade.

    Cons

Depending on which department you worked in, the work environment isn't the greatest. They expect you to work long hours.
