I worked at Kelly Educational Staffing part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

-I really loved working for Kelly as you have a flexible schedule. You can take time off when ever you want and it doesn't need to be pre-approved. You just need to be available for assignments 3 days of the week.
-I liked the variety in my schedule. I really enjoyed going to different schools and teaching a wide range of students. Although students can be a little rowdy depending on the school it was a pretty low stress job.
-Since you go to different schools you get to skip office/school politics and drama which is a huge pro. There seems to be a substitute teaching shortage so most schools are super happy and appreciative to have you as a guest teacher for the day.
-Working as a substitute teacher for Kelly was the most enjoyable job I've ever had. I would work with them in the future.
    -Great job for graduate students.

    Cons

-There is no work available during the summer.
-Sometimes there are no assignments on days you want to work.
-Very low pay- after taxes your take home pay is about $70/day.
-Inconsistent income means you need other sources of income for living expenses. (Side note- yet with the flexible schedule you have time to take on fun side jobs or pursue your hobbies and passions for pay which is a huge plus).

    Advice to Management

Give long term teachers should get a $30/day pay bump.

I worked at Kelly Educational Staffing part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexibility, new experiences, some pleasant students, always something new to learn.

    Cons

Low pay, especially for Para position. At the time, at least, you could not easily change the phone number where the system would call you (i.e., to change between land line and cell phone), which I previously could do when the town hired Substitutes directly.

    Advice to Management

    Increase pay to substitutes.
