    Pros

Flexible hours and locations - Get to pick what days and what schools you want to work at

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Increase daily rates for schools that are in less desirable areas.

I worked at Kelly Educational Staffing part-time

    Pros

Flexibility. Convenience Diversity. Decent work hours. Choose assignment locations local to you. Not always working in the same school. Not always working with the same class grades. Network with other teachers to be their "go-to" substitute. Be great at what you do, and you may be hired directly with the school you represent. Long-term assignments help you develop professional relationships with the staff and students. Great experience for future teachers. Plenty of time to breathe and relax during non-scheduled classes and lunch waves. Don't stay with them for too long though. Try to use the experience for more rewarding career paths.

    Cons

No training. Experience-based. Not all students are going to behave. You're a substitute. You have to learn how to work with them. If you have a long-term assignment, you will have to teach the class. You will need to make homework assignments, tests, grading, and learn data entry for grades before their report cards go out. This isn't for everyone. This can result in more than just being a one-day substitute teacher.

    Advice to Management

Communication is great. No need to improve. Thanks for the congratulation card for being hired directly through the East Hartford Board of Education.

I have been working at Kelly Educational Staffing part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Very Flexible Scheduling.
You can pick which schools you work at.
    Summers and Holidays off.
Bonuses for subs who work a lot, especially at school with a great need.

    Cons

    No paid holidays.
    No medical benefits.
Can only work on the days students are in school (180 days).
No room for growth, no raises.

    Advice to Management

It would be great if Management would offer help finding summer jobs to Kelly Subs. It would increase retention because substitutes would not be forced to find permanent jobs over the summer (then having to be replaced when the school year starts).
