    A lot of long term employees, relaxed environment

    Cons

    below industry pay for all positions, expensive benefits, forget being promoted and making a good salary. They have 401K and don't contribute anything to it. The ESOP is NOTHING

    INVEST IN YOUR EMPLOYEES. Try to be more professional

    Pros

    Great team to work with, the manager and supervisor were kind and very flexible with your the schedule. Co-workers are great too.

    Cons

    None really. The only thing is the raise may be not much. If they give out raises often that would've been perfect. But I feel most companies are like that.

    decent pay, good product, care about their employees. employee owned company actually it's one of the largest in the country.

    Cons

    can get a bit tedious. lots of slow days when no one is really painting. sometimes dealing with the contractors can get frustrating.

    Advice to Management

    give your lower level employees more power to make decisions, constantly have to defer to the higher ups for advice on how to handle big jobs.

    In store management treated all employees respectfully
    Good Schedule compared to other like companies in area
    Encouraged to build professional relationships with the customers.
    Friendly inviting work environment

    Cons

    Always seemed to run out of stock on popular products
    Deliveries of large orders to be carried into houses being built with no drive way. (had to be carried through mud rain or shine.)
    Upper management no as caring about employees as store management

    Pros

    When I first started, it was obvious the company cared about its employees and the benefits were good, holidays were plentiful and the culture was great. The company has only gone downhill since then, which led me to leaving the company. Had you asked me 5 years ago, I would have said this is one of the better jobs you can have. Now, I advise people to stay far away.

    Cons

    Every year I was there, corporate looked for more things to take away from the employee. Benefits got worse, corporate stopped caring about the loyal contractors, growth opportunities were halted, bonuses became rare, and long term employees were replaced by cheap replacements. It no longer felt like a family owned business.

    Advice to Management

    If you want good employees to stay, treat them better. Quit trying to act like Sherwin-Williams. Quit replacing good, loyal employees with cheap new hires or outside people who know nothing of what the company used to be.

    Pros

    Company culture is changing for the good. Great management to work with. Great combination of holiday, vacation, and sick pay.

    Cons

    Health benefits while good, still are a little expensive.
