I have been working at Kelly Services full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

My job provides numerous opportunities to see and meet fellow employees across the country. The concept of my team is great and we provide best in class service with the ability to walk in to any situation and know what to do and how to get the job done.

    Cons

I don't really have any cons. My manager is the best that I've ever had. She cares and listens and has a way of gaining your respect without even trying.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing. Thank you for giving us a solid employer that we can be proud to work for.

I worked at Kelly Services full-time

    Pros

Company cares about their employees. The pay is decent with bonus opportunity. A great company to work for if looking for employment in the staffing industry.

    Cons

Perhaps additional training is suggested for new branch managers that are placed in that role that never worked for Kelly Services before.

    Advice to Management

Better screening process when hiring for new Branch Managers. Witnessed too many of them come and go over my career with Kelly.

I worked at Kelly Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Smooth experience, no problems, steady work

    Cons

No management, no career path, never a chance to become an employee

    Advice to Management

I believe people want to grow, have a career path, be part of a company. Feeling like an eternal temp with no path to achieve any of those is not for me, as I believe is also not for many others. Unfortunately, the culture of less -- if any -- benefits and cheap labor wherever it can be found is becoming the new normal.

I have been working at Kelly Services (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Maximum flexibility (work where you want, when you want)
If you're in a big city, there's always a job available somewhere

    Cons

    No benefits
May have to drive a bit farther than preferred if preferred jobs are taken
The staffing company does not want you leaving for lunch
The staffing company has a no touching policy with students, so if a student hugs you, or a pre-schooler is being violent or running away or if an elementary student is being violent,...

I have been working at Kelly Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - The company encourages working remotely
    - Diverse culture
    - They have a dedicated engagement team to improve employee satisfaction
    - Great vacation plans. Two weeks right from the start with the option to purchase an additional 2 weeks.
    - Medical, dental, and vision benefits are all great.
    -

    Cons

    - few opportunities to rise unless you are willing to move to Detroit.
    - working onsite at a customer does not allow for working remotely. The corporation encourages this practice, but some managers do not feel it is important.
    - Mandatory 9 hour day according to the handbook (8 hour work day with 1 hour long lunch).
    - Instead of being clear about how much a position makes, they use "Grades". Salary ranges for grades are not readily available for employees to review.
    - Working onsite is like working for the customer. While Kelly may be an excellent organization, the customer you work for may not be so excellent.

    Advice to Management

Encourage managers to have employees work remotely. Advise them that even working remotely 1 or 2 days per week is better than nothing. It would be nice if salaries were more transparent. Additionally, consider rewriting the handbook regarding the work day. You pay me to accomplish a job, task, or series of objectives. Don't legislate my day. Some days there might be 3 hours of work, some days there maybe be 10 or 12. Having a mandatory 40 hour work week is outdated.
