I worked at Kemah Boardwalk part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Get to meet a lot of people. And learn about the food industry, how to be a ride technician or other boardwalk job.

    Cons

Management is horrible. They only care about money. Bad company to work for. Maybe for there for a month then move on.

    Advice to Management

    Treat your employees better.

I have been working at Kemah Boardwalk full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The amount of teamwork, great structure, good benefits, good amount of employee appreciation, decent pay, great hours, allow you to balance work and life

    Cons

Some employees don't enjoy being here which brings down the morale

    Advice to Management

Smile because it's truly contagious and pat your employees on the back every so often

I worked at Kemah Boardwalk part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They are pretty flexible with allowing you time off, at least in the Retail department. They will work around your schedule and give you hours that work for you.

    Cons

You have to work outside about half of the time and it is pretty gruesome. You are the only one who is standing in a shop for 6-8 hours at a time and you have to call in every time you want a restroom break. When you do call in, they take their sweet time coming to help because they are on some sort of power trip.

    Advice to Management

Have people who actually know what they are doing train new employees. My trainers were both terrible examples, they talked trash on the company and management the entire time that they were training me. You should train your trainers.

I worked at Kemah Boardwalk part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Just meeting people and interacting. You get to have fun while you're at work.

    Cons

Management is super strict. You basically can get in trouble for the smallest things. You don't get commission off of what you sale for the company, all you get is your paycheck for the hours you worked.

    Advice to Management

Increase the pay or give incentives for those who make high sales. Treat your employees better so they can feel good about coming to work.

    Pros

If you want hours you will get them. (But at a cost)

    Cons

Worked outside no brakes, management lies to you and talks about you behind your back. You will stay sometimes 2 hours after you are supost to go home.

    Advice to Management

    Need better management.

    Pros

Exciting atmosphere, friendly co-workers and great management which led to a very inviting work day in my time there.

    Cons

Depending on position landed you may run into hectic pacing and challenges...it is best to choose a position that you are comfortable with or you may feel overburdened at times.

    Advice to Management

Patience with new employees will most certainly bolster confidence and work ethic which helps everyone in the long run.

Sometimes you got no breaks (even on a double).
The employee soda machine was not clean and sometimes had particles floating in it.

    Be more efficient with breaks
