    I worked at Kemper full-time

    Pros

The reserve national Insurance Company was an outstanding company for me! I was there from 1983 to 1999!! You are paid what you are worth, straight commission and renewals! A good salesman will do well with Reserve National!! A salesman that's afraid of commission is not a salesman! There is overnight travel and expenses, but the sales cover that! When your renewal builds up that you will sustain a big check every month!! I was treated really well by Reserve National!! I sold myself out of impoverishment!!

    Cons

Out of town during week! Rural areas cheap motels!!

    Advice to Management

Pass out lead's based on agent's production! A percentage of his total office production and give preference to closers!!

I have been working at Kemper full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

In sales 39 yrs. With United 7 yrs. Good benefits package. Includes 401-K.

    Cons

Terrible customer service and communication from home office. Outdated products, arrears contract turns salesmen into 'collectors". Agents contract is more about collections than sales.Management making great money while average agent pay is extremly low.

    Advice to Management

Take a look at the District and Sales managers pay in relation to average agents pay. bank draft for lower face amounts.Charge back for policies that lapse after 12 months is way to high.Move away from low income market ( arrears will always impact pay under this contract).

    Pros

    Benefits was great and outstanding

    Cons

You will get charge for anything that lapse on your route, you have to overwrite your lapse to keep your check from dropping, most of the clients can't afford no more insurance and neighbors are on a low income. You can only work assigned areas since you have to collect in the area you work. There is room for advancement if you know all of upper management they don't promote on performance. Depending on your manager you will be micro managed you feel like you working at Walmart-mart accept you not clocking in or out. This is the worse insurance job I ever had.

    Advice to Management

It will be a waste a time saying my advice it won't stop the turn over rate. I'll be just another statistic for leaving the company which they don't try to retain you. One thing I can say if you don't like the pay they tell you to hit the highway. Who is suppose to push through trying to survive?
