I have been working at Kemps LLC full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The pay is decent, benefits are good, there's plenty of overtime available if you want it, coworkers are *mostly* easy to get along with.

    Cons

Horribly mismanaged. Very poor communication, if any. Employees are not appreciated or respected- when management has an 'I DON'T CARE' mentality, that quickly trickles down and permeates the whole company. Facility is ancient, falling apart, and in desperate need of expansion and modernization- you can't keep acquiring new accounts while working out of the same space, and expect things to run smoothly.

    Advice to Management

Hire outside consultants to help you iron out the numerous kinks, sometimes people are in leadership positions so long they stop being able to see the forest for the trees. Don't be too proud to admit that you might've dropped the ball in a few areas, but are ready and willing to remedy the situation(s). HUMILITY goes a long way...

I have been working at Kemps LLC full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Pay is good, as much overtime as you want, fellow employees easy to work with helpful with learning production equipment ins and outs.

    Cons

Hard company to work for, Management hard to work with, rather than looking for ways to encourage and build up people they would rather put them down and not encourage them with positive encouragement. Employee turnover means having to work short handed, long hours, working every holiday. Very minimal opportunity for advancement. Since DFA purchased company it is not the same place to work for. Health insurance has taken a drastic turn for the worse.

    Pros

If you want to make money it's a good place to work. Hourly employees can make big bucks due to almost unlimited overtime opportunities.

    Cons

Run down facility, upper management likes to point fingers and blame without helping to fix the problems.

    Advice to Management

Get active in the day-to-day activities, get out on the floor and actually see what goes on.

    Pros

Was a great place to work as were most of the other companies DFA has bought.

    Cons

Bought by DFA, figure out the acronym however seems appropriate. DFA seems to be determined to take this hundred year old company and drive it into the ground.

    Advice to Management

Best of luck in your future endeavors.

    Pros

Great hours and location, good coworkers. Benefits are decent. Great working environment.

    Cons

DFA is not the wonderful farmer conglomerate we hear about. They're laying off our employees left & right. Also, no room for advancement. Some employees have flatly been told they can't apply for other positions within Kemps. Favoritism and micro management are the norm. Overall,a great company but I fear for my future here.

    Advice to Management

Fight for your employees. Loyalty should matter. Live up to the mission statement.

    Pros

Good treats on breaks, small enough to have access to top management. Well respected brand in the MN community and honestly does produce healthy milk beverages

    Cons

frequent ownership changes mean you can't ever count on what might come next

    Advice to Management

protect your employees from negative changes from all the industry and ownership changes.
