    Pros

Decent pay company works with you in need of time off

    Cons

Safety double standards depends who you are..favoritism is out of control

    Advice to Management

Favoritism needs to stop especially when it comes to the safety of the men and women who work for you. listen to both sides of the story when it is between Drivers and dispatch Last time I checked Dispatch isn’t God .

I have been working at Kenan Advantage Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Flexible shift scheduling

    Newer trucks

Benefit/retirement package(somewhat compensates for low pay)

    Paid training($150.00/day)

    Cons

Low pay for a HAZ-MAT hauler

Shortage of proper hoses/drop equipment (gaskets OK)

    Favoritism

Poor communication between management and driving staff

Poor communication between dispatch and drivers
(All loads are updated via Qualcomm; loads are switched mid-shift w/o notice)

Lack of resources for drivers to adequately express concerns regarding management (falls on deaf ears)

Equipment is frequently in a state of disrepair; specifically trailers

Shop management staff inadequately conveys information to dispatch regularly

It is well known this company is afraid to make hard choices when it comes to charging station owners for the delivery of fuel. That, or they have increased delivery charges and have not passed on the increase to the driving staff. As a current driver I have heard and engaged in grumblings of low pay. This is not specific to company drivers either; O/O's are refusing to deliver to certain stations due to low pay.

There is a culture that some company drivers engage in that speaks volumes.
"What is that culture?", you ask?
The practice of watching every other driver like a hawk for any perceived infraction then reporting them immediately to management for their own personal enjoyment. This behavior is encouraged. Drivers will do this to further their own position in the company (E.g obtaining better/more desirable loads), not realizing they are hurting and ostracizing themselves.

Loads are paid out by the mile (zip to zip) and a pre-set amount for loading, unloading and split trips. Hourly wages do not exist at this company. When you are first hired you will be told the following:

"You can make between $55,000 & $85,000 your first year."

This is entirely incorrect. Plan on making between 37-45 with the current standards. (This is coming from a driver with prior experience and a clean driving record)

I do not recommend working for this company. Find employment elsewhere. Current, decent drivers are leaving for a reason.

    Advice to Management

Read the above statement regarding the conditions at this company. Listen to your employees. Put the "trickle-down" economics theory into practice. Charge station owners appropriately. Look up the definition of employee retention and put it into practice.

Cafeteria offers prepared food, sandwiches, yogurts, packaged breakfast foods, other.. Can get a loan and pay back with moderate interest. In my department you can take time off or leave for family or personal reasons.

    Cons

Surcharge added on medical cost if you smoke. Low raises if any. Poor communication within company. Air quality and flow of heat or air conditioning not evenly distributed making some parts of building colder than others. Work area too confined.

    Pros

A good company except for payroll.

    Cons

Payroll is really messed up. They have 3 weeks on drivers and then it is still messed up. Loads missing, whole weeks of pay missing. You ask for corrections and supervisor thinks nothing of pay missing. Payroll takes their time correcting and depositing missing money. You can't pay bills or feed your family when your check is always messed up and you get behind on your bills because of it. And when you ask about pay you get no response or we are working on it and it takes weeks to fix.

    Advice to Management

Fix Disttech payroll ! You are losing good drivers and will lose a lot more because of the mess ups and the lack or care to fix the mistakes.

    Pros

The company is a way to get in on the ground floor, for gas hauling. But not much more than that. Go get your own truck & place it on if you want to make any money.

    Cons

They have limited equipment to use on the Birmingham,al yard. So that makes it hard to be a company driver .

    Advice to Management

Get more equipment to work with
