I have been working at Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda Union Free School District full-time

    Pros

Large district. A lot of projects and changes are happening in an effort to be a higher performing district. There is a district wide administrative desire to be a top performing district using cutting edge tactics. Between 2015-2017 (current year), there have been a lot of changes made in an effort to increase student learning objectives, business plan, technology integration, and several other areas.

    Cons

Sometimes there are too many things going on that interfere with plans. The recent administration between 2015-2017 (current year) has done a lot to change the static nature of the last decade the displayed a lack of progression. Because of this recent aggressive schedule and desire to make quick changes, sometimes things aren't planned and implemented as good as they could be. I applaud the district for noticing that change needs to be made, since most districts never make a proper strategic plan, but establishing long term goals through proper communication and planning may prove to aid in the aggressive goals the current administration desires to achieve.

    Advice to Management

Possible advice would be to employ a more focused approach to planning and implementation with documented long term goals. Communicate with a focused approach toward short, medium, and long term goals. Set forth goals by quarters, school year, and multiple school years.

I have been working at Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda Union Free School District part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Working within regular school hours, weekends and holidays off. Fast paced work environment, lots of safety regulations to follow and learn. Pays above average.

    Cons

Hours are limited and you are only paid for 10 months of the year. It's hard to be creative while preparing entrees because the recipes cannot be altered.

    Advice to Management

It would be helpful to educate the kids on the nutritional values and ratios of the menued food. Most kids don't understand why they have to have 3 certain things on their plate.
