    Very challenging, frequent reorganization and struggle with consistent strategic direction. Matrix organization implemented several years ago led to silo mentality b

    Brand Recognition, Strong Marketing campaign, Liberal test tool policy, Good Quality Product Line, Excellent Breadth of Product offering.

    Cons

    Top Heavy Corporation, Unsettled Markets effects hundreds of people, Sometimes non personal atmosphere.

    Advice to Management

    In down economy, consider other avenues to save $ for the company like salary freeze, voluntary layoffs, etc; in view of cutting hundreds of jobs

    Too much "Good 'ol Boy" cronyism in upper management ignoring amazing employees beneath them that could help make the company #1 in their market.

    Listen to your subordinates and carefully weigh their suggestions and their talents

    Cons

    HR is horrible. Try to meet someone in a department that interests you because that's your only way of getting in here.

    Low morale, good workers are looking for employment elsewhere. Please pay attention to what is going on here

    I have been working at Kennametal full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Good money for the area, good benefits, decent time of with rotating schedule of twelve hour shifts, unlimited overtime

    Cons

    been here for 90 days and the already have me running shifts alone operating eight different machines, under staffed we are suppose to have three worker per-shift, surprise mandatory over time
