I worked at Kennametal full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Employees in management or overall pretty good. Very understanding of just about anything related to family. Some of the workers were very knowledgeable and some were not but for the most part you could get just about any question answered. The play was great the vacation days the holidays and the first thing I noticed when I walked in the doors from day one is that everybody is smiling and very friendly. Most machine shops are not this way

    Cons

Don't really have any cons other than the fact that they were getting rid of 25% of the company because of economic reasons I would say that that would be it or the 40-minute drive to get there period but I didn't mind it too much

    Advice to Management

To not put so much stress on the team leads... or at least come up with questions to filter some of them out because quite a few were constantly stressed out and in fear of their jobs being taken away from him which transcended down to the workers.

Not all types of interns (ex:engineering, etc) have structured programs. This needs to be looked at.
