I have been working at Kennedy Capital as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Relatively small company, people are very nice. A lot of opportunities to learn. One of the few undergrad opportunities in a buyside firm at STL

    Cons

Research time is sometimes limited by the regular administrative work. Usually does not lead to a full time position (however very good for networking etc.)

Work is inconsistent at times and fluctuates between slow and very busy
    Some stereotypical intern duties

    Advice to Management

Compliance department goes overboard trying to protect the company and inadvertantely

    Pros

I enjoyed working with many of the employees; they were friendly and always looking to help with the learning process.

    Cons

The pay is quite underwhelming for an internship; you make about as much as someone who works in retail. In addition, the year-round program is a pain as a student with other responsibilities.

    Advice to Management

Up the pay and consider a summer-only internship program as an option.

Pay below market. Part and Full time pay is below other opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work but be willing to pay up for talent.

I have been working at Kennedy Capital as an intern

    Pros

Kennedy has a very entrepreneurial and driven culture. The full time employees are very open to working with interns and the internship is an excellent opportunity to learn about fundamental research and equity investing.

    Cons

Balancing working 18-24 hours a week with school can be challenging but it is definitely worth the experience and knowledge attainable through the internship

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work and keep utilizing the interns in the research and investing process. It's a unique and excellent opportunity to learn about the industry
