I worked at Kentz full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

fellow team members were awesome, stuck together, dedicated - met unrealistic deadlines great teamwork, decent pay

    Cons

Aside from Kentz breaking the Labour Laws by bringing in unqualified irishmen to supervise the team of Canadians, but are not capable to fulfill their role. The biggest disappointment would be when commissioning started, the electricians that championed the project got laid off and the incompetent irishmen left to finish up.

    Advice to Management

Integrity is critical in business. If client knew what happened behind closed doors - business would be closed.

    Pros

Interesting work, exposed to many different disciplines in O&G, good colleagues, strong ethics. lots of social events until new management.

    Cons

Poor senior management, management of change poor when SNC purchased Kentz creating lots of red tape. No social events permitted under SNC such as Christmas party.

    Advice to Management

Command and control management style will never get the best out of employees.

I have been working at Kentz full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits: free food and drinks, free accomodation, free laundry, transportation provided, company with unlimited load provided, and no monthly salary delays.

    Cons

Poor management commitment; no yearly bonuses; no R&R; not much benefited with Class C health cards provided; unfair salary package for co-employees of the same department; superintendents not knowledgeable on their craft , company just wasting money with their high salaries.

    Advice to Management

Strictly compliance with HSE procedures, especially with client's standards, to establish injury free environment and no records of damage to properties. Positive health and safety culture practices boost the company's reputation, satisfaction, and attracts more client; Fair salary package for all employees; if possible, comply with the country of residence's labor law. Conduct random health surveillance for all employees, either every 3mos./6mos./yearly monitoring;R&R to be planned yearly;Yearly bonuses/incentives.

I worked at Kentz full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Face paced. Multi-Cultural engineering teams, unique project locations, and the opportunity to work outside of your comfort zone.

    Cons

Not much room for payment increases, even though the demand for skilled Irish employees is massive, especially on Middle East-based projects, there seems to be an under appreciation of the workers already in the company.

    Advice to Management

It would be good to see monetary incentives for targets reached and higher performance based rewards - given the fact that the only motivation for most employees relocating to these harsh environments is a financial one.
